2019 Stingray A8 issues
Less than 2,000 (two thousand) miles, I thought I had something wrong with my right front wheel, shaking the car like a bad road. Wondering if the wheel threw a wheel weight or a cracked rim? It just could not be needing a flush on a brand new 2019 with under 2,000 miles. Took the mechanic for a ride, and got the car to act up, thank goodness it wasn’t going to do the intermitting game on me. The mechanic wanted to hold the wheel, it was all his, he said this is the trans, I was doing 1,400 rpm’s and that’s the sweet spot to act up on my car. Got my oil changed and will take it in next week and leave it over night. Looks like the trans issue is all the way through the C7 start to finish 2014/2019. I wander why GM never got a little more proactive over 6 years of yearly models.

It's not just the Corvette, that same transmission has issues in every GM car and truck they put it in. They can't fix it. My opinion is that the A8 is fundamentally flawed with no resolution for those with issues.

Interesting. Had a 2015 with the A8 and sold it a year later with about 2K miles (due to medical issues). I had no issues with the A8 in that car probably due to low miles but remember a lot of discussion on an o-ring seal issues at the time.
I just bought a new 2019 with the A8. I did some research in advance to see if there were any wide spread issues with the A8 in the newer cars. Could not find a lot of information that was comprehensive and conclusive on the recent model years but did see a lot of anecdotal information on the forums. I am not a huge fan of CR but they are one data source I considered. The latest issue of CR New Cars shows that 2017 transmission issues in the C7 (both major and minor) are much better than average. No data shown yet for the 2018 models. The 2016 cars show better than average major issues and average minor issues.
CR also characterizes the M7 as "vague" whatever that means. I considered buying a car with the M7 but have not been a fan of Tremec transmissions since owning a Shelby GT 500 with the M6 (TR6060). I found that transmission to be rough and notchy from day one. Never got better with time and was one of the big reasons I sold the car after just 3 years. I wonder what transmissions we will see in the C8.

Here is thought from me I am not a mechanic or even that smart on the transmission Maybe GM should take all the A8's and replace them with the A6 which did not seem to have the problems. Sure it would cost a lot but how much are they spending with people having multiple flushes torque converter replacements, and trans replacement, Sure the cars, trucks etc would lose some mpg's but at least the owners could enjoy their vehicles

2019 GS, Had the dreaded shudder, eventually it was flushed 5 times which alleviated the majority of the shudder but I still noticed a slight vibration. Service tech insisted it was due to the engine running on 4 dead cylinders during Eco-Mode that was causing the vibration and due to the original problem I was searching for the vibration. Requested a test drive in a brand new-off the lot vette for a comparison drive. The new vette had the same slight vibration when it went into Eco-Mode. I purchased a Range Extender, no more Eco-Mode, no more vibration.

mine was flushed last week. I drove it home from the shop--540 miles in 6.5 hours--and it was smooth as glass. they used the new fluid that came out in jan. I hope it was the fix and won't do it again.

I had my 2016 flushed a few months ago and the shudder problem returned in a few days. I just had it flushed again a few weeks ago with the "new and improved fluid" and the shudder is gone. Attached is a article about the new fluid so hopefully GM has figured out the problem.

The Ranger Extender, will be my next Corvette item, if the new fluid is the fix. The extra fuel will be fine to have peace of mind. Funny that my C6 in econo, was perfectly smooth with 4 or 8 firing. However I did luck out on my 2018 Chevy P/U. That truck is the Texas model which means it’s a V8 and I got the 6 speed automatic transmission, and not the 8 speed because GM was burning through the last 6 speeds they had in inventory.

Hopefully the new fluid will solve the problem. I can understand the frustration of having problems on such a low mileage car.

Better to spend 80 grand then have a mechanic rip the whole car apart and try to get it back together again. Oh yeah dealer mechanics have lots of experience ripping cars apart like a jig saw puzzle Goid luck with that fart. GM does not even give a crap or they would have changed out the tranny when they realized there is no fix.

I'm only at 9500 miles on mine but it also has been 100% trouble free in every way and I really like how this A8 shifts! In my 33 years of driving I've owned a good mix of manual and automatic equipped performance cars and I like them both for different reasons, but this A8 is by far the best automatic trans I've owned. At full throttle it shifts into the next gear so quickly! I chose the automatic this time because I made a promise to my wife back in 2013 (when I bought a C6 with the M6) that when we got a C7 it would be auto so she could drive it. I don't regret that decision though, I love this car!
