Default MRC update

I had the dealer update the MRC on my GS at purchase. It’s a preowned ‘17. When I put the vin into the GM service website, nothing has changed. If the MRC update wasn’t done what did they do exactly? Pics below

Well since you were supposed to pay $350 for the update, I'd say you need to talk to the service manager.

I bought my 17 GS new and had put enough miles on it to really "feel" the differences between the MRC/drive modes. Once I received the update it was clear to me and the wife the differences between the old and the new calibrations.

That being said, I also observed something odd when using the tis2 website. The old numbers were there one day and then they magically changed a few weeks later. The numbers changed even before I received the new upgrade as if they just changed the OE calibration numbers in the entire database. So reading the tis2 website is not actually accurate in every individual case.

When I went in for the upgrade I asked them to read the current calibration number of the actual Suspension Control Module (MRC) and print it out and then asked for the printout after they upgraded it to ensure it was done. Although that was unnecessary for me because it was obvious that it was done when I drove the car but it was a confirmation.

So for the sake of really knowing, I would go back to the dealer armed with some info (find it here LINK ) and ask them to pull the Suspension Control Module's current calibration number. The last 4 numbers should be 1869 for a 17 GS FE6. If that is the case, you received the upgrade.

It’s a Chevy Performance Parts upgrade...likely they just ensured you had the latest software update—which is not the same.

This ^^^When I had mine done the printout said “customer has most current software installed”. Nope, I’ll run through this again with you (had the printout instructing how to do it). Second time was the charm!
