i saw a dealer in nj selling new c7's for $49k. then i read an article that said there is a saturation of c7's on lots and dealers cant get rid of them yet when i went to my dealer he said that wasnt so, sold out and a base model c7 sells for $59k. what gives.
Yep, big dealers like (forum vendors here) Criswell, Kerbeck, etc. sell more cars, get more cars from GM, and can sell at better prices. Of course it's vice versa for the smaller GM dealers. There is like a 200+ day inventory across the country as I understand.
guess the real question is has anyone here bought a base 2018 or 2019 c7 for $49k?
When I was searching for my car in 2017 they had new 2016s Z51 1LTs starting at 47k. If I hadn’t really wanted the higher trim level I would have done it. Glad it didn’t work out though as I wouldn’t have the Grand Sport if that was the case.
The Internet is your friend in finding new Corvette deals. Use those deals in trying to leverage your dealer into matching it. Which more often than not, your dealer cannot come close to in matching. One local dealer claimed that the deal I was able to get day in and day out from a CF sponsoring Chevrolet dealer was below the dealer cost. I LMAO at the silly dealer and walked. Do yourself a favor - buy from a CF sponsoring Chevrolet dealer....

Frankly can't understand how anyone on this Forum doesn't click the Kerbeck Logo on top of every C7 General Page! It's there because they sponsor the page! If nothing else to see what their prices are for the cars in stock OR on order. They often have >200!
Kerbeck sells the most Vettes for a reason. They were selling 1200/year. That's ~25/week! There are other forum dealers as well. But before you go to a local dealer at least look at what hey have in stock. What you see is what you pay! I just checked and they have a number with a $1000 GM incentive they did not have last week. Folks who buy lots of cars get more! They put it on the cars they want. They have a brand new 2019 listed for $46,970! A number more for ~$500 more.
For your info, I ordered all 5 of my Vettes "Made for Me in Bowling Green." Several from Kerbeck including my last. Had the Grand Sport delivered to a dealer 30 miles from my house and it came directly from Bowling Green. It's called Courtesy Delivery. That was a flat fee of $250. No extra's from Kerbeck and they handled all paperwork. Many of their cars they and other Forum Dealers sell are ordered for customers from Bowling Green. Why would I want the colors, interior level, wheels, etc. etc. a dealer thinks I might like!
Haggling with dealers for Vettes went away some years ago! Bought my 2008 Vette from Kerbeck as well - great folks! Do any of you who insist on buying cars locally ALSO NOT USE AMAZON???

Are you asking this because you want to find out if this is a "come on" price that won't hold up when you get there? The answer is it depends on the dealer. But the big forum dealers, MacMulkin, Stancek, Kerbeck and my favorite, Mike Furman at Criswell don't play those games. If they're advertising a car at a given price, then that's the price. There are some Chevy dealers who advertise a price but when you call them you have to meet several qualifications to get the price. The dealers named don't play those games. I'm guessing the dealer in NJ you refer to is Kerbeck. They will sell you a new Corvette for their advertised price. My recommendation is to contact one or all of these dealers and discuss it with them.
Agree with many points with JerryU.
For me any mass produced car is (almost) a commodity item.Since the Vettes are all made in the same plant, there is no diff ( assuming model/options are the same)from one to another except price.
I got a deal on my '17 at Kerbeck, and offered my local dealer a chance to beat it.They did.
With spring coming,I would guess the inventory will go down and when it reaches a level that GM likes...then the C8 will be out.

What you saw was a dealer that sells with a good discount and that dealer in NJ sells the most Corvettes in the country. Its is true about many C7's new at dealers across the country. Last word was there are 9000 new corvettes on the ground unsold.

Yep, if you want the car Kerbeck has offered at that $47,000 price I mentioned you can arrange to get it shipped to you with a phone call! Of course shipping and your states sales tax are on your dime. They will manage the paperwork however.
Several folks have said what I did. No haggling, what you see is what you'll pay!
I few to Atlantic City and drove the 2008 I had ordered through Kerbeck home to SC. If you live too far find a Dealer who will accept Courtesy Delivery. Just don't ask a dealer salesman or sales manager!
The largest Vette dealers work on a different business model than the lower volume local dealers. Right now, the largest volume dealers are selling each and every vette except for ZR1 at a net loss. They are doing this to gain allocation for the C8 when it is eventually released for sale.
At that point, they will be selling at or above list price and more than make up for this model years losses. A small dealer that sells fewer than 30 vettes per year (the majority of Chevy dealers) is not able to use this business model as they won’t score enough C8’s to make up for the losses on the C7. There can only be so many volume dealers who have deep enough pockets to subscribe to this loss leader business model so you can’t expect a lower volume dealer to be willing to match the price on today’s vettes.
Not everyone that buys a vette knows this and may not be willing to purchase out of state and/or care about saving a few
thousand dollars on a new vette and prefer to do business locally so that’s how smaller dealers still sell them at the higher price. The last year of the current generation is a win/win for both the buyer who deals with the volume dealers and the volume dealers.

Shop around the forum dealers - I've found that they have some of the best prices around. Even if you have to travel a bit to get to the dealer, the savings can still be substantial.
Here ya go, just give Mike Furman at Criswell a call. You won't be disappointed. I drove 425 miles to pick mine up, and was glad I called Mike. The other big forum dealers here will treat you right also.
Many don't want to ship their brand new Corvettes, sight unseen, regardless of who the seller is or what reputation he has. Shipping a car inside a truck is expensive and eats away at the cost savings. The best is to fly to the far dealer and drive it back yourself.

Nope, IMO, best is to order from a forum dealer, get the ~same discounts (less in this the extra GM $1000 incentive if it is shown) with exactly the colors, options, etc you want and have it delivery to a dealer closer to home (who will accept Courtesy Delivery) directly from Bowling Green!

So, for the car that gets delivered to the courtesy dealer (for free?).... can you refuse acceptance for issues, or have you already paid the first dealer for it? That is the problem.
