Default Fuel Stabilizer

Hi everyone. I am getting deployed with the Army. Will be gone for 4 months. Any recommendations for fuel stabilizer.
And can I leave my car on a trickle charger for that long?

Sta Bil is a good fuel stabilizer. Current recommendation is to keep fuel level at 1/4 tank.
4 months no problem for the trickle charger.

4 months doesn't require a fuel stabilizer, but if you insist Stabil or similar is fine. Trickle charger is an excellent idea, many of us leave our cars plugged in all winter long. Mine hasn't moved or been touched since mid-December with at least another month to go; the tank of fuel is from mid-November

No problem leaving on a trickle charger that's in good repair, fuel stabilizer is not needed for just 4 months.
Stay safe and thanks for your service.

Doesn’t hurt to put some fuel stabilizer in the tank - I would use Sta Bil.

Thank you for your service.
If by "trickle charger" you are referring to a battery maintainer or a "smart charger" I agree it is a good idea. You don't want to use a battery charger on the trickle charge setting as most of these chargers run continuously. You may damage your battery if you trickle charge it for four months. My apologies if you were referring to a smart charger.

Star tron is what my mechanic recommended. Been using it ever since. Stabil before that.

Another vote for Star-Tron...I've had better luck with it than Sta-Bil.

The best fuel stabilizer is a full tank of non-alcohol enriched gas. 100% gas, may be hard to find in your area but here in Florida it available if you look hard.

Wash and cover, use the battery maintainer, keep indoors, and leave about a 1/4 tank if using stabilizer. I have done this multiple times with different cars with zero problems (3-15 month deployments). Do not, I repeat, do not put the car in the POV storage lot on any post.

Why just a 1/4 tank, I always thought it was recommended to keep a full tank to keep the moisture from forming on the inside of the tank that isn't covered by the fuel. That is what I have been doing with my motorcycles during the cold mos.

I use Stabil in all my toys and tools. I've done so for quite a while, with no issues. John Deere recommends fuel stabilizer, so I doubt it can hurt.

Stabil in te tank and a battery TENDER, not just a trickle charger and it will be fine. I use both on my Goldwing cycle and on my C7 Vette and the 78 Trans am.
Thank you for your service. Stay safe!!

Could you please expand on that? How did Sta-bil fail you? What is better about Star-tron? TIA
