Cup holder problem solution!!!!!
Hi every one and thanks for the overwhelming support. Ive attached how the 650HP and the Blanks look. . Also the item # on ebay is 233190067794. For those just seeing this, it expands and retracts so the lid can close when not in use.

I have mine, haven't committed on installing yet (using the sticky tape on the bottom). I do like the design / concept and really appreciate the work that has been done on this. I was hoping for it to be a little larger in capacity though. If you're expecting to be able to fit the same size (diameter) cups/bottles in it as you can in the standard one, it won't. Not a huge issue, just further limiting. It's a trade off between the annoying flopping around and the size of the cup/bottle essentially.

I only allow bottled water in my car, so it fits that bill perfectly. 1st time I drove it the water bottle flipped out on somewhat normal driving using the OEM cup holder. It's easy to go back, put the rubber & center divider back and no one would know :-).

It does limit the bottled water selections though, but once you get used to the ones that do work no biggie I guess.
I forget, the factory rubber at the bottom, is that stuck down or does it come right out?

Yes it comes up. But maybe some sugar got on the bottom of yours and is sticking it. Mine came out very easy. Just got a pointed object and pryed up the corner. To me the OEM cup holder was very annoying to the point my wife would take out the center divider and lay the water bottle flat inside. Its a toss up to use the bottles that fit and in my selection most do fit but i will say that i can now drive ***** out with no flopping worries.

What size water bottles do fit well? I would never allow anything but water in it anyway and I have to think twice about that. I have never even allowed water in my C6 Z06 which ticked some off once in a while, but it’s my call. I will allow water in the C7 so I’m loosening up some! Most cup holders I see are always a little big for the standard 12 oz water bottles to fit securely.

The story is told that when German auto makers entered the American auto market in earnest years ago, they could not understand why Americans wanted cup holders in their cars. After all, driving an automobile is such a serious engaging activity that drinking a beverage while driving is insensible. Maybe German auto makers not take long road trips in Europe.
I recently purchased my first corvette, and I just ordered this product for my 2017 Stingray. I hope they don’t run out. It looks like a much needed product for those long road trips.
Cheers

Yes like rocket said but i will add that before installing, extend them all the way up until you feel both cups lock into place. It will feel like a pop. You might have to pull a bit hard the first time. This will let you know how hard to pull them up once installed. There are 3 locking tabs inside the first 2 cups.
Then close the cups all the way down to the closed position and lay it in the bottom centered and when your sure of the center lift it out and remove the white paper on the bottom, close them back down and set them in the center. Push them down until the velcro sticks together.
After installed, to lower them lay the palm of your hand on the center handle and push down. The palm of the hand is the best way to lower them as they will lower together. If you use the handle only, they may not lower together.
Again get to know the locking feel as this is designed to keep the cups up.
