Did a search but to no avail - I have the NPP exhaust and my car is set to "Track" in the Engine Sound Management setting but every time I turn on the car it is in "Touring mode." I thought the manual is saying that the Engine Sound Management setting will override the setting on the console? Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
When you change the mode on the console it changes the exhaust sound accordingly to whatever mode you select. However if you go into the sound management menu on the screen and select a sound that you prefer such as Track it will lock the sound into track all of the time no matter what mode you select on the console. So you can be in touring mode but if you selected track mode for sound in the sound management menu that is the sound you will always have even though you are in touring mode. At least that's how mine works on my 2019 Stingray.

Thanks for the reply - I think then what you are saying is that once I have changed the selection via the sound management menu, regardless of what the console setting is saying (so it is actually wrong) that it will be in Track mode?
In my 2017 Stingray, I select "Track" on the infotainment center Sound Management, No matter what mode I put the car in with the console mode selector, my exhaust stays in "Track Mode". If I'm in Sport mode, my exhaust is in Track, If I'm in touring mode, my exhaust is in Track, and so on. Everything other than the exhaust changes with whatever mode I select on the console selector.
Your car will never be in track mode when you first start it up.
If you put your car in track mode via console and shut it off and turn it back on, the car will be in tour mode when it starts up next time.
If you put your car in sport mode via console and shut it off and turn it back on, the car will be in sport mode when it starts up next time..
If you put your car in tour mode via console and shut it off and turn it back on, the car will be in tour mode when it starts up next time.
If you manually override the steering or exhaust via the infotainment settings screen, to track, sport, or tour mode, then anytime you start the car up, the steering and exhaust will be in the mode you manually set regardless of the mode the car starts up in.

So I think I understand now - the dial on the console doesn't change the exhaust alone, it changes other "things" which in my case I don't know what because I don't have the mag ride?

My car will start in the last console setting some times and other times it will default to tour. Weather, eco, tour or sport mode all do whatever they want randomly at startup, but I don't know about track as I don't drive on a track and the roads are too fuct for that to be a good setting to use for me. The exhaust will stay in quiet mode or loud mode whenever I go to start the car, I leave at 4:20am so I always set it to quiet when I park the car at night, and never changes unlike the console setting seems to do. I leave the steering linked ot the console setting and it seems to behave itself just like the exhaust setting does. Ever had your car go to V4 in reverse? that will get you wondering about things. lol

Reason: typo
When selecting a permanent mode via the Engine Sound Management option, what is the difference between Track and Sport, if any? Since the option is there, I'm just wondering if it's a different sound between the two. The 2014 option was a simple on/off.

Its not actually wrong. All settings will be in Tour except the exhaust mode that you locked to Track.
You can also change the gauge display and steering settings accordingly. Mine is set to Sport for gauges, Track for steering, and Sport for NPP and it stays there regardless of the Driving Mode set on the console switch.

Track is a bit more aggressive than Sport. I use Sport because there is less burbling on decel and for me is the perfect NPP setting. I want NPP open at idle, on acceleration, but not a cruise or decel.
