This is a major paradigm change for the Corvette and GM. I would wait two years before buying the C8. I want to see how much people like them after a year or two and the inevitable improvements that will come as a result of the feedback that GM will get. For me, I went C7 Z06 M7 vert last summer because I had to have a stick.
For grins I went to autotrader.com, looking for new Z06 M7 convertibles. I found 10 cars, mostly highly optioned. One was a 2018. There were over 190 coupes. Vert M7 fans may have to hurry, coupe fans not so much.
A manual vert is definitely a tough car to find unless you just have no specific requirements. My vert is an auto and I still had to search and wait all of last year for the right used car to come on the market. I came close to just ordering a new one. Coupe's are much more widely available and easier to find both used and new sitting on dealer's lots. Not saying those that have specific requirements are going to find their perfect match but there is definitely a higher probability.
Anyone simply saying 19' Vette's are in high supply and there is an overabundance of them is glossing over the fact that this is only true if you're just not that picky. Not sure about others but when I am spending spare cash on any toy I'm far less open to settling than when I am out shopping for a daily driver.
