Default Performance Corvettes - Thumbs down on vendor experience

I was looking to buy winglets for a Stage 3 Splitter and saw the exact item I was looking for on Amazon sold by a dealer named “PERFORMANCE CORVETTES”. The price was $100 cheaper than the manufacturer (ACS), so before placing the order, I sent the following inquiry through Amazon to PERFORMANCE CORVETTES and was astounded by the reply and subsequent uptick in wise-*** responses. They also have a separate company website selling various Corvette products. Buyer beware if you purchase from them based on this conversation:

ME:
I am interested in the “Corvette C7 Z06 Grand Sport Stingray ACS Stage 3 Splitter Deflectors Winglets Painted Carbon Flash Metallic”.
Is the item new/unused and in original ACS packaging?
Are you an authorized ACS dealer?
Price is $100 less than ACS Composite same model number. Is there any difference or defect or old version?

PERFORMANCE CORVETTES:
price was incorrect, it;s been adjusted. we have other aftermarket stage 3 winglets available for $299 shipped, you can view them on our site

ME:
Wow - I ask some legitimate questions before purchasing and your response is to raise the price without even an offer to sell to me at the price listed while I was inquiring.
Needless to say, will be looking to purchase elsewhere.

PERFORMANCE CORVETTES:
yet….you still managed to say it.

ME:
No worries, will inform my fellow Corvette club members about your reaction to potential customers.

PERFORMANCE CORVETTES:
if we only had a nickel for every time someone told us that…i’d have about 211 nickels by now

ME:
Self admitted proof of a dysfunctional company and employees who obviously ought to find another career.

PERFORMANCE CORVETTES:
going on 20 years sir, we do just fine without you and/or ALL your Corvette Club Members

Chip,
Thanks for the feedback. It's amazing they (Performance Corvettes) can sustain a business if my experience is just one of many dissatisfied (potential) customers. I couldn't believe the response/s. Felt like I was dealing with a bratty child...

You’re the one who started the smartass attitude; their response was short and to the point; I smell a “snowflake.”

Seems to me the ad was incorrect. They corrected it and told you so. For that, I'm not sure you deserve a discounted price. You want a discounted price. They're not willing to give it. Move on. End of story.

I agree with your assessment. But they should have stated that in a professional manner and/or offered a “thank you” for bringing an apparent pricing error to their attention instead of the “conversation” that ensued. That is my point.

Whatever the case may be, the response from the vendor that they do not need the business of this member or any of his club members (which could include the CF) is a very poor way to leave the conversation. Word of mouth spreads fast and negative publicity is not in the best interest of a business. It could have been handled in a much more diplomatic manner IMO.

I've had multiple good experiences with Performance Corvette's. Would buy from them again.

I ordered a ZR1 extended wing from them and the guy who helped me out was extremely helpful and I felt he went out of his way to keep me informed. I will be able to answer as to the product shortly.

There are several sub-optimal vendors. Vote with your wallet. There are people who graduate at the bottom of their classes (even in high school). Those people are answering phones, not performing brain surgery or designing 737 Max's (oh wait, bad example).

It least it was a cocky American vs. a cocky call center from the middle east or SE Asia. This is what happens when unemployment is low.

Well I'm not interested in entering the usual forum he said she said
Pi__ing match. However, with that said, I'm currently purchasing
a splitter and side skirts for Performance Corvettes and the purchase
is moving along smoothly. If contemplating a purchase simply pickup
the phone and call. Gather the necessary information first hand to
make an intelligent decision.

If you ask me (no you didn't ask me - I'm just offering my opinion), this misunderstanding is on you. Never attribute to malice that which can easily be explained by incompetence (or in this case a simple error). Try this little exercise - what if Performance Corvette simply made a mistake and put the wrong price there? They said, "price was incorrect, it;s been adjusted". Aside from the obvious spelling error, how exactly is this unprofessional? But instead, you attribute malice to them by saying that they are raising the price on you. No, they are not. They fixing the price to where it should have been. It's your assumptions that get you into trouble here.

IMNSHO You seem to believe you are entitled to a discount or a thank you. Why? Just because you asked about a price? You didn't bring an apparent pricing error to their attention - you are hoping to get that price as evidenced by your suggestion that they sell it at the lower price merely because you inquired about the price. Seems pretty damn self-righteous and entitled to me. You didn't ask for a thank you and quite frankly you did little to deserve it.

Apparently your comprehension skills are lacking. If you read the my entire first message to Performance Corvettes, I asked several questions that were never answered:
I am interested in the “Corvette C7 Z06 Grand Sport Stingray ACS Stage 3 Splitter Deflectors Winglets Painted Carbon Flash Metallic”.Is the item new/unused and in original ACS packaging? Are you an authorized ACS dealer?Price is $100 less than ACS Composite same model number. Is there any difference or defect or old version? The response from Performance Corvettes dodged the packaging question, whether they were an authorized dealer and whether there was a difference/defect/old version. Instead all they stated was the price was incorrect and had been adjusted. That is why I followed up with an admittedly "snarky" response about the purchase price....that was all Performance Corvettes was fixated on as they apparently couldn't of cared less about answering my other questions.Their subsequent responses were ridiculous as your post which you infer I accused them of malice rather than a mistake. The issue is their unprofessional responses, but if you had better reading skills, you would have picked that up....
