Default Replacement battery

I'm thinking about replacing the battery in my 2014 C7 when I take it out of storage next week.

What do you feel is the best replacement?

you need some sort of battery backup. if you totally loose power you could end up with all sorts of failure let alone reprogramming they make some that plug into your obd connector. this is what i use and it worked great. my second suggestion is agm battery might be nicer in the long run but what ever you choose have a battery with a handle is a real nice plus because the oem does not have that and you will need a strap to get it out.

Just replaced the original battery in my '14 a couple of weeks ago. Went with another AC Delco that was the same as the original. i figured if the original battery lasted 5 years, it can't be all that bad.

I read the Batteries Plus X2 (AGM) battery is good and has a 5 year replacement warranty.

Can one use just a battery tender in the rear hatch socket or is there a lack of a proper ground when the battery is removed preclude that?

I would recommend an AC-Delco 42 based on my selling and warranting thousands of auto/truck/equipment batteries for over 16 years when I owned/operated my auto parts stores.
Personally, I'd be more concerned with that front license plate holder than the battery.

Default Just the Facts

Go to a large battery factory. What will you find? Batteries being produced under a dozen different brand names. All exactly the same construction. Buy a rated battery from a source you trust. You'll be good to go.

Where did you get the AC battery? From the dealer or another source?

Not true on the C7. I changed my battery and only had to reindex my windows. All other settings remained.

There are two front plate holders, you have the “bad” one. The other one has a crease and sits completely in the grill area, I wasn’t going to say anything, but since it’s been mentioned :p

https://www.corvettemods.com/C7-Corv...SABEgLQXvD_BwE — should have came with the car in most states

Also the ACDelco and DieHard are probably both made by Johnson Controls — just be sure it’s AGM and you should be good

This is unnecessary. I just switched my battery and had zero issues

I replaced mine a couple months ago with an Interstate from Costco. No issues. Also, no issues with reprogramming. I did have to lower and raise my vert top and then re-index the windows. That took all of 30 seconds.

I've been to several battery factories (as I stated above, was a battery distributor for years) and while they may manufacture batteries under different band names they are typically not the same construction, but made to particular brand name's price point and specifications.
So in short, just because brand "A" and brand "B" batteries are made in the same factory certainly doesn't mean they are the same batteries, in fact they most always are not.

Optima H6 yellow top. I just replaced the original battery in my 2014 with one. They are pricey and hard to find but you can order one direct from the manufacturer. No core charge and free delivery. Also no sales tax so up to you to report it on your state tax return. They are heavy, 54 lbs. That means more lead. Based upon my experience buying higher lead content batteries for my boat (Trojan brand), I would not be surprised to get 10+ years from the Optima.

I agree, best warranty I could find. 42 months free replacement. Installed by GM Dealer.
