Default Leaky seal

I took my 17GS for a oil change today and when I came home and pulled into the garage I noticed some oil on my garage floor. It was where the motor sits. It figures I notice this right after the oil change. I could have had them check it out during the oil change. I suspect it must be a leaky seal. Is there a certain seal that is a known problem for the c? Any info would be appreciated.

Slide some cardboard under the car and see if it is still dripping. Stain on the floor could have been caused by sloppy oil fill earlier.

Good for you. I am 71 with stage 4 cancer and still change my own oil and will continue to do so until I can't move. I have had a lot of problems with numerous shops after 50 years and 90 vehicles. Been on a lot of continents myself after 27 years in the USAF. Nothing in any of them has changed my mind about the importance of taking car of my expensive vehicles myself.

OP

Check the oil level. It could be high and you're getting oil into your MAF

Other things to consider is whether or not the oil change place tightened both the filter and drain plug(s) down tight, or whether they really got sloppy and spilled oil when refilling the car.

Please buy me a lottery ticket!
If you have paid somebody who couldn't care less about your vehicles to do your oil changes for 61 years with "zero problems", you are the luckiest person on this or any other planet!

Sorry for your Stage 4 CA..... thanks for your service. I did 22 Navy..... your mileage and mine differ considerably on what's important in life... changing vehicle oil certainly isn't high on my scale of things... the next sunrise in _____________, next meal in __________, and conversation in _______________ are of far more importance..... looking toward a couple of thousand miles road trip in Spain in October.... just got back from a 1600 mile road trip in France....."Aim High, Fly-Fight-Win"

Convenience?

I am fully capable of cleaning my bathroom, vacuuming my floors, yet I pay a housekeeper... I'm fully capable of making a delicious top quality meal yet I still go to restaurants...

There are plenty of things that i'm fully capable of doing myself, yet would rather pay somebody else do to.

Thanks for your service as well. My dad was in the Navy in WW2. Served on the Sub Tender USS Anthedon. I am the only person in my entire extended family to serve in the military long enough to retire. Everyone has different views of what is important in life. Yours seems to be world travel. I got the wanderlust out of my system after being constantly on the go for 27 years. The more places I went, the more I appreciated the homeland. I have no desire to leave the good old USA ever again. My vehicles are my hobby and the one thing I can still enjoy with my medical issues. Taking good care of them as best I can brings is far more important than travel anywhere could ever be. No dealer or shop will ever touch them unless absolutely necessary. “America’s Navy – A Global Force For Good.”

Wow this thread went sideways fast...

OP, where did your car get services? Regardless, I’d take it back for them to diagnose. Even if it was some spilled oil I’d have them clean it up and tell me that was the source.

WRT servicing, 15 years of driving Z06s serviced by Chevy. With that being said I find a dealer that sells volume vettes and comes with local club recommendations. Never a hiccup. With that said, no disrespect for those that do...just ain’t for me.

"More than likely they just spilled oil when filling the reservoir and your are just seeing the run-off." you HOPE!

Odds are it is NOT a leaking seal, but one of the explanations noting an error on the part of the person doing the work. Hopefully, not a big error.
