Hi guys, my care has 310 miles on it. Got it last week. The washer fluid warning came on telling me it was low. Can I just put any type of washer fluid in and fill or does this require going to the dealer for? I figured I can just get it from a local gas station. Seems odd to have the washer fluid be low when I just got the vehicle.
Im sure somewhere in the manual it says that it requires Dexos 2 washer fluid and can only be filled at chevrolet dealer using correct infusion pressure-requiring a return to selling dealer but that being said you can use anything its a car
If you use anything but GM approved washer fluid your dick will fall off. That said, I use GM Opticlear in everything. I mix it with distilled water. It even works in Fords!

Can be a tough group! Usually all in fun! Don’t see where you live and fluid will work but if the car will see below freezing, get one that won’t freeze!
Funny I usually buy an inexpensive brand but your question made me look! Get lots of bugs here in the summer. I see two Preston’s products, one all-season good to -27F. Since my C7 never gets below freezing, I’m going to try the other. Not cheap, $15/gallon. Will see how well it does! Might be able to avoid cleaning the windshield as often when I pull in the garage in the summer. Hitting a bug at redline in 3rd on the 3/4 mile, usually traffic free road near my home with only cotton and corn on either side, makes a mess!
Mixing brands is not a problem, will not void your warranty, or even make you a pariah on the forum. The system is no different than any other car on the road.
I like Rain-X orange. Mostly because the blue stuff shows on the Kalahari top. For a coupe, it doesn't matter. The main concerns are bugs, and temp, with a bit of road grime/light rain splatter. Pick the brand that fits your needs, and don't worry otherwise.
Washer Fluid
What to Use
When the vehicle needs windshield
washer fluid, be sure to read the
manufacturer instructions before
use. If the vehicle will be operating
in an area where the temperature
may fall below freezing, use a fluid
that has sufficient protection against
freezing.
Adding Washer Fluid
Open the cap with the washer
symbol on it. Add washer fluid until
the tank is full. See Engine
Compartment Overview on
page 10-7.
Vehicle Care 10-27
{Caution
. Do not use engine coolant
(antifreeze) in the windshield
washer. It can damage the
windshield washer system
and paint.
. Do not mix water with
ready-to-use washer fluid.
Water can cause the solution
to freeze and damage the
washer fluid tank and other
parts of the washer system.
. When using concentrated
washer fluid, follow the
manufacturer instructions for
adding water.
. Fill the washer fluid tank only
three-quarters full when it is
very cold. This allows for fluid
expansion if freezing occurs,
which could damage the tank
if it is completely full.
be sure to change the washer filter every other fill up
I change mine when I change the air in my tires. Seriously, this is something I never worry about. I never drive my toy cars (Currently the 2019 C7) in the rain or even wash them with water. They just get dusted off periodically and then touched up with detail spray or polished. I have never used the washers or wipers on my last 6 toys cars (from 2012 to the present). Don't really know if they worked on any of them.
At this time of year you don't even need washer fluid, just fill it with water. Just remember to start using actual washer fluid with a good winter rating if the car will see sub freezing temps.

Just go to Walmart, an auto parts store, etc and get a gallon of washer fluid. I always try to get some that will not freeze during temps that can be expected in the area.
