Carbon Flash badge package
What exactly gets blacked out when you order the $100 carbon badge flash package on a stingray? Is it the chrome stingray designs on the sides of the car and the silver “smile” in the grill?
If so, when I was discussing ordering the car, the dealer said the car looks better w/o the package if I am set on chrome wheels and the car looks better with black wheels with the package. Honestly, I like the chrome wheels. I just don’t like the silver in the grill.
Thoughts/opinions?

Nice looking car and the CF badges/emblems look great on it.

Your call on what you think looks best. I selected the Carbon Flash Package on my white Grand Sport because I got the Stage 2 Aero Package that comes with carbon flash painted carbon fiber "full length" side skirts and splitter. (I added full length side skirts to my 2014 Z51 and it stopped all rock dings on my rocker panels and allowed me to remove the thick (discolored) GM protective plastic. So far in 2 years not a mark on my rockers or rear fender brake duct openings.)
I like the look of the carbon flash badges with my Machined Faced Aluminum Wheel option (had enough of black wheels on my 2014 red C7.)
Here are some pics.

However, its your car and you should do what you want (even if you have no actual knack for design )

Yep, esthetics are personal!
I thought the chrome grill bar was fine until I added a visible carbon fiber splitter to my 2014. That combined with all the other Carbon Fiber made it look like braces! I was able to find a "real carbon fiber cover." Not sure it's still available. It was pricey BUT after spending all that money for a visible CF roof, side skirts, splitter and hood vent- why not! The car also had black wheels.
Just Sayn'. Some pics to compare.
Thankfully the fellow who bought my 2014 "loved" the CF!

In general I agree with the dealer - I think it looks best matched to the wheels.
I didn't know they were blacking out the bar across the grill now with the CF badge package as well... is that a recent change?
In general though, even if the bar is blacked out, I much prefer the bar-less Z06/GS grill, and I think it will fit on the Stingray. I would probably break down and pay the money to get it swapped to that eventually.

The 'carbon flash' was the best $100 I ever spent. I factory-ordered my Torch Red Stingray 2017 with the black wheels, so it was a no-brainer. Nobody wants a car that appears to be wearing a retainer. As was mentioned above, though, it is best to match the wheels.
My girlfriend recently purchased a new 2019 Elkhart Lake Blue Stingray with the black wheels and the 'carbon flash' package........it looks fabulous!

To each his own. GM will build a Corvette any way you want it. I favor the blackout look, but others dont.
Different strokes for different folks, eh?
My girlfriend's 2019 Stingray 1LT -- Elkhart Lake Blue with blackout package & wheels.
Side view -- Girlfriend's 2019 Stingray 1LT coupe.
My 2017 Stingray 2LT coupe. Torch Red.
Blackout package looks awesome on a red car -- 2017 2LT coupe.
