Default Typical engine coolant temp

What is the normal highway driving coolant temp range that you guys are getting with your C7? I was driving home today on a highway, and mine was showing 206 - 210. This is a Stingray with auto tranny. My C6 usually ran between 199 - 203 on the highway, thus the reason for my question. Does the mode its in influence coolant temp? It only has about 140 miles on it, so does the coolant temp go down once the engine gets more miles on it? One thing I did notice, probably attributable to the oil cooler ( I have the Z51 pkg), the oil temp was running about 10 degrees cooler than my C6. Thanks

My M7 seems to run 200-220 depending on environmental variables. Oil is usually around 200ish.

My 2015 Z51 runs about 180 to 190 for both oil and coolant at highway speeds. Went to 200 last week when climbing a steep twisting road at low speed (25mph). That's with the front grille license plate on.

I have a 2015 Z51 M7 in which I installed the GM auxiliary radiator. It additionally cools the water coming from the oil cooler before going back in the main radiator. On a hot day in Houston, 92 to 95 degrees F, at highway speeds of 75 mph in 7th gear, the water temperature runs 188 degrees F and the oil temperature is 185 degrees F. Prior to the auxiliary radiator install, the water temperature ran close to the 200 degree F others where quoting.

From the factory the C7 will run hotter than a C6 for emissions purposes. Sounds like your car is perfectly normal. My 2014 Z51 M7 ran 220-230F normally when stock. If it bothers you for whatever reason, there are plenty of cooling mods to make. Mine now consistently runs 190-195 on the stock thermostat with a few easy mods.

1 bottle of Redline WaterWetter
Z06 grille
DEI cat shields
Coated exhaust manifolds
Heat sheath around the radiator hoses
600W Z06 radiator fan

I have a 2016 w/Z51 with close to 19,000 miles.
It runs constantly at 186-190 around town, and 186 steady cruising back roads or highway.
Used to think it was V4 mode making it run cooler, but when I keep it in V8, it still runs 186 with steady driving even in really hot weather.
Spirited driving it will hit 195-200+, maybe 210 and cool right back down afterwards.

I have a 2016 Stingray A8 and mine varies between 190 to 203. The 203 is when it is about 110 outside and I'm pushing it.

I thought the 2014's ran hotter than the 2015-19 cars because it had a higher temp thermostat. My 2014 ran at 210-220 degrees, while my 2018 runs at 185-190. When pushed, the 2018 will see 200-205, while the 2014 never saw more than the 220.

My C7 Z06 with M7 and the secondary radiator that was made standard for the 2017 model year M7s runs at 190 degrees coolant temp and 188 degrees oil temp at 75 mph in high 80s ambient temps. The thermostat is the stock thermostat and the those two temps will vary +/- 2 degrees over a three hour time period.

Digital or analog gauge? Because...

on the 2014 that silly analog shows 220 once warmed to operating temp regardless of the actual water temperature

My 2014 Z51 is pretty much always between 190 & 210 on the true, accurate digital readout.

How do you get the digital readout? I have only been able to find an analog readout for oil temp. in the pocket gauges.
The coolant analog reads 220F and oil analog reads 200F normally on my 2014 Z51.

My 2015 A8 and current 2017 M7 have always run ~195° coolant temp on the analog gauge. I don't recall ever hearing the radiator fans running except when AC is on. Oil temp never exceeds 175° in winter, 200° in summer street driving in S. LA. My C6 LS1 ran hotter, often showing 225° OT.

You can go to the settings menu for the display and choose to have the Tour Display show in all driving modes.
