Is there a market for used Michelin Pilot Sport tires?
Is there a market for used Michelin Pilot Sport tires with 7/32 tread remaining? I am replacing them Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP for reasons outlined in this thread; https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-question.html
To me it’s not worth the hassle to have the Summer Only tires put back on after our long road trips. And it’s certainly not cost effective to buy another set of (4) wheels to make switching easier.
So my question is; should I just leave them at the tire shop after I get my new Michelin’s or try to sell them? My big concern is if I try to sell and don’t I then have them taking up space in the garage.
if they are worth selling how much are they worth?
Tire sizes
Front: 245/40ZR18, Run Flats
Rear: 285/35ZR19, Run Flats

Don't know how much time you have before you will purchase new, but from now until then you could run an ad here on the forum and see if someone steps up to buy them If nobody buys them then leave them at the tire shop when you buy new ones. I would not buy your old tires with that amount of tread life left but someone else might. If I'm in your shoes I just buy new ones and leave the old ones there at tire shop. I'd figure I got my monies worth out of them

The cost of mounting/balancing has to be amortized over fewer miles if you buy used tires, and no help from Michelin or your dealer if you have problems. Age may become a factor sooner. If shipping is needed, that’s more money. Plus, most people just emotionally prefer new tires.
Ive gotten very poor results from selling my used tires.

They are bought and sold here all the time. Have you not looked at the Parts for sale/Wanted section?

Sold mine recently, rears with 5/32" went to guy who was trading in; fronts to local guy with a bad tire; he picked up the tires. I shipped the other tires to Chicago via FedEx for $28. So, yes, there is a market.... Special situations seems to be your best at success.. I say run the ad here.

Guys, the brand new MPSS ZPs only have 7.4/32" Fronts & 7.8/32" rear BRAND NEW (Z06 sizes). Went back & checked Tire Rack again for Stingray tires. Yep, those have much more tread depth than GS/Z06. 10/32" frt./9/32" rear, so it definitely makes a difference in "starting point" for tread life remaining.

I sold the exact same tires on Craigslist with 4,000 miles. I advertised the two fronts separately from the two rears and got $225 for the fronts and $250 for the rears. I got a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 265/35/18 and 305/30/19 and mounted them on the OE wheels. Much better!

I have a set for sale right now in the classifieds. Picked up my new Stingray last end of May at the museum, drove almost 1400 miles, and had new AS/3s installed when I got home. I expect to get $750 for the set.
