Wanted to get some thoughts as I sold my Shelby and looking to purchase a convertible. I have looked at C- 5-6 and 7s and the prices are through the roof. Wanted to see if my thought was close as the C8s come out will prices come Down? I have a coupe so no rush just looking for thoughts.

Hmm, have you looked at the price of Trucks!
Recall when I visited the small Chevy Dealer some 40 miles away for the first time that agreed to Courtesy Delivery. Went to talk with the Service Manager before my Grand Sport was delivered.
Their small showroom can only hold 2 vehicles. In our rural SC area, as expected they were two trucks! Both were 4 doors with all options. Both had a sticker more than I paid for my 2LT Grand Sport with a $2995 Stage 2 Aero package and some other options!
MY "Guess," is a stripped C8 will be close to $70,000 and you won't find one discounted until perhaps late on 2020 (if then.) Don't think at that price it will have a big affect on used Vette prices- for a while. Especially if you want a manual, as the C7 will be the last!

1) I don't see the C8 having a huge impact on pushing prices for the C7 down. First off, the C8 ain't going to be out anytime soon. Also, I don't see a lot of C7 owners wanting to dump their C7's and rush and get a VERY different C8. Sure some will, but not enough to make the C7s a bargain. Lastly, I would assume for the pricing for the C8 will be higher, so that might have the effect of propping up the prices of the C7s
2) I agree with you, the prices on the C7s (I haven't looked at C5s and C6s much) are through the roof. Your best bet is buying new. IMHO the used market for the C7s hasn't kept up with the mega dealer deals. You can get a 1LT Coupe from the mega dealers in the mid-high $40's.
