Default Max width for Z51 wheels

I just picked up a z51 machine face set from a forum member (Thanks Mike!) and now looking for a wider (than Stock) section width tires for them. Michelin has 255/35/19 and 295/30/20 in the pilot sport ps4 but I’m looking for higher tread wear rations. PS4 has a rating-of 300. On my current base wheels, I have the Michelin PilotSport AS 3+ which has a 500 treadwear rating and has enough grip for my needs.

is there another brand that has the wider tire in a non-ZP better wear tire (all season or summer performance)?

Just asking but if your current tires meet your needs, why do you want wider tires? Your current AS3+ offers less performance than the PS4. (not that it matters a wit in street driving)

I won't go that wide but good to know I could. Curious as to why you when with the 30 aspect ratio (taller) on the rears with a 305 wide tire.

Keep in mind that manufacturers assign their own tread wear #'s. It isn't done by a third party with any consistency. Just an FYI when comparing two different tire brands.

I talked to a shop that does custom fitments to get more opinions / eyes on this and they suggested /confirmed I can go, on the stock suspension, 255/30/29 on the front Z51 wheel and 295/30/20 on the rear based on the OEM wheel size and offset. This would be the widest they recommend to avoid possible rubbing/fender issue on the base (non-lowered) suspension.
The 30 aspect ratio on the front would result in an overall diameter of 25 inches, 1 inch less than a 35 aspect ratio tire in that size.
The side wall would be .5 inches shorter.
Revs per mile would be 806 on the shorter tire vs 775 on the taller.

The only tires in those sizes are the PS4S and Continental ExtremeContact Sport. They are both within a couple hundred of each other so I'll go with the Michelin's. Got my black chrom lug nuts on order and my candy red valve stem caps ready to go. Just need to get the tire order in, clean the wheels and then get them mounted.

While I was cleaning and Rejex’ing my new-to-me Z51 machine faced wheels I noticed the 20’s have a “Low E” and “Low P” sticker while the 19’s both have a “Low i” sticker.

Anyone know now what that means?

Ok, but if your current tires work, why do you think you want a wider contact patch? Seeing as how a wide patch is good for lateral grip, and not really acceleration grip... Are you driving in circles? A wider tire would be good for that...

But hey, it's your car and money.

That is EXACTLY why I want wider tires, lateral grip for ‘very spirited” driving. I picked them up yesterday and ha e an appointment later today for mounting. I’ll get an alignment at West End alignment asap.

Update: An unforseen benefit is no rear torque wheel sliding from a dig like there was with the OEM size tires. 1. get on Right pedal 2. Go
