Try a lowering cycle or 2 and see if that helps.

Someone had a great post that if the Info Center is raised and lowered numerous times it wears out the cable. I suspect that may be a part of your issue if the above remedies do not work. When I stumbled upon that post, I made a note not to store stuff behind it requiring the movement of the screen up and down.. Just another neat gadget that will require maintenance and fixing. I do not use mine. It looks like a cable prematurely wears out.
