Default OBD2 recommendations

Looking for a cost effective OBD2 Code reader. I just want to be able to read codes and gain better understanding of what’s going on. What is everyone using that costs less than $50?

It will cost you $99 but the BlueDriver tool works well. You can read codes, reset, etc... on any vehicle. I use it a lot if I am looking at used cars. It connects to its app on my iPhone via Bluetooth and works really well.

Otherwise if you are looking to stay under $50, search on Amazon and look at reviews. There are a ton of cheap readers out there.

I went with this one. I know a guy here at work that has it and it appears to work well. For $20, what the heck, right?

Will it operate the ABS pump during bleeding operations? Some of the answered questions indicate yes, others maybe, others no.

Will it report on individual wheel speed sensors?

Thanks.

+2 on the BlueDriver. Scan and clear codes using their free app on both iPhone or Android. Have used it on my vette and F150.
The cheaper ones usually won’t read all codes and/or allow to clear, require additional $$ to buy the premium app and only work on Android or IPhone (not both)

I have no idea as I have not tried any of those, matter of fact I did not know you could do any of those things with one, I will try to see if those are options and get back with everyone...

I just use a cheap Bluetooth OBDII scanner with Torque Pro App.

It's very configurable for my needs with all my vehicles.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PJPHEBO/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PJPHEBO/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anything more than that for now, I'll likely invest in HP Tuners.
