Still just a Chevy...
Was washing my Z06 today and while drying I went to pop the hood to dry the underside. To my chagrin, only the passenger side would pop up. Tried it several times and could not get the driver's side to pop. It's days like these I need to remind myself, as awesome as the car is, its still just a Chevy....

I have a friend who has a McClaren MP412C. He’s owned 2 C5’’s, 2 C6’s, and 2 C7’s. One Frc and the rest Z06’s. He said if GM had quality control like McLaren, they’d go bankrupt. Kinda scary! That said, he sold the MP4 and bought a 720S. BTW, his favorite car....a Neon SRT 4!

Don't fret! As I know it's a trip to the dealer and inconvenient but I can remember when I was at a Taco Bell and this very expensive Mercedes pulled into the drive-through and shut off and would not crank. Needless to say, it had to be towed.
They will make it right!

Let us know how they open the hood so they are able to fix it. Its probably a DIY if you know what to do.

Most Chevy dealers near me make their bread and butter on trucks, expensive trucks I might add, fully optioned and lifted bubba trucks with all the off road gear that you can imagine. Take a look at what those go for and you will understand why your Corvette is just another Chevy to the dealer. Now maybe a ZR-1 might, repeat might, get special treatment but I doubt it.

it may be just a Chevy but nothing can beat it for the performance and the reliability you get for the money.

I still love it and everywhere I go people drool over it! I have to go to the dealer to get the paint peeling documented anyway. Just made me laugh...

Sounds like when I had my C4. Always kept that hood opening tool in the back , until I replaced the entire cable assembly. Haven't had any hood issues with the Stingray...yet...

Ever watch top gear? Jeremy couldn't get the gas cap open on a lambo. **** happens with every car. Don't let it bum you out.

It's all part of the experience! I think all cars have their quirks, haven't had one without some silly issue or another. It would be nice to know how they get it open, I would think there is some kind of latch under there somewhere like cars with hoods in the front have but who knows...

Yep my Honda has an issue that the dealer still can’t figure out. I just keep telling myself it’s still just a Honda.
When my Audi A 4 had an annoying rattle inside the interior and Audi couldn’t find the cause I just had to tell myself it’s still just an Audi.

Just a thought, have someone push down on the side that won't unlatch to take some of the pressure off the latch, then pull the lever. Who knows.......

Don't sell off Chevrolet/General Motors too quickly. If your car was a Ferrari or Lamborghini, think of how much EXTRA this hopefully simple fix would cost....
