Weird A8 shifting, CEL
The issue: a little romp, say, 2nd gear to 4k and the transmission pukes itself, immediately going into 7th gear. The CEL comes on and I get an Diag Alert text telling me to service the engine and transmission. I get glitches, I mean, flawless up to this point. So... I reset the CEL. Test it for about 10miles. Everything looks good in all modes, then I put it in 2nd for a romp: same thing happens, pukes itself about 4-4500k, going into 7th gear. I have not reset the CEL and leaving it alone until service.
Perf mods: Vararam intake (newly installed AFTER transmission/CEL), cat-back custom. This happened with the stock intake was in (should I put it back?). Any ideas what this could be? I'm scheduling an appointment to get the car in and fixed, but after reading the transmission issues (shuddering), this doesn't seem to have been addressed.

I had anomalous shifting issues with my A8 since new and had them re-flash the TCU and do the Fast Learn Procedure according to the service manual. Zero shifting problems since and it shifts much quicker and accurate at higher RPMs.
My issues started day one with 6 miles on it. Never realized how jacked up the trans actually was until I had them re-flash and service it. Had all sorts of random crazy shifting issues, slammed into gear, slips on high torque pulls, short shifts, skipped drop shifts, etc. in both M and A. Now, it's all good.
I hope its just a software issue and easily resolved. Good luck brother.
