So far in my 2014 and now my 2016 Z06 mice have gotten into the Cabin air filter and died....what a stink. Is there any way to screen the intakes ...if so were are they. I looked inside the filter area and see no inlets ( but very hard to see. in there). In the 2014 I went through 3 filters (2600 miles total) and now 2 filters on the 2016 (1700 miles). Car is stored in a garage...I know have cats live in the garage....then cat poo smell...J.
Anyone know of a fix or cure. Do not want to use poison because mice would enter the car and die. Considering multi multi traps.
The best cure is exclusion if that's at all possible. I've read about people using moth *****. I dunno, I don't have that problem (yet). Hopefully someone that's had some success will chime in!
Easy solution. Cut a 2 x 6 x 8" long. Install mouse & rat bait with a nail. Make several of these and place them around garage doors or any possible openings.
It will be the end of the mice and any rats. They work. Sold at Amazon.
I am also a member of the Jaguar Forum and one of our members had mice eat up the engine bay, caused $20,000 in repairs.
Act now, don't wait. These critters can cause more damage than you could even imagine.
Once they start chewing the wiring, you're in deep deep trouble.
Be pro-active on the solution.

This is not really an answer, but somewhat related to the question here. Someone asked something similar on reddit (though they wanted the mouse out of the car alive) and in typical reddit fashion, things got really funny really fast!
You might try moth ***** in zip lock bags placed under the hood when storing your vette for any length of time. Should keep mice away. Just have to remember to take the bags out before driving....

I've been fortunate never to have mice in my Vette. But have had enough in our house. I've tried poison. It works, eventually, but it takes time, sometimes days, and the mouse can do a lot of damage in that time. Your concern that a poisoned mouse can really stink is completely valid, despite the disclaimers on the poison box.
I tried the sticky traps that claim once the mouse touches the adhesive, he's had it. Not true, the only thing we trapped was a lot of mouse hair.
I've read several times on this forum that fabric dryer sheets deter them from entering your car. Must be true because a lot of guys are using them.
The only way I found to stop a mouse that's completely effective is a good old fashioned mouse trap. Some of the new designs are easy to use. I've used odorific cheese or peanut butter. Very effective, works all the time.
BTW, not all cats are good mousers. Some well fed cats have a real live and let live attitude toward mice.

BTW, don't underestimate the amount of damage a mouse can do to your car. My friend had her Porsche Boxter totaled by a few mice that ate the vegetable based, wire housing.

The best mouse trap I've used so far is the Rat Zapper Ultra, currently $45 at the Amazon link. Don't get the Rat Zapper classic -- it uses AA batteries and they don't last as long. It doesn't seem to get as good of a killing charge, too. Peanut butter as bait seems to be a charm. I cut a small portion of the bottom of a paper cup, smear a little peanut butter in it and slide it to the back of the trap. You only need enough peanut butter so they can smell it, and not enough to make a mess inside the trap. By the time they find out there isn't any to eat they're already dead. Periodically the conducting surfaces inside the trap get fouled by bits of a burnt hair, rat/mouse juices, etc. Just use a slight-curved wire brush to reach in an shine things up. I've probably gotten 70 or 80 with mine and it's still going strong. No poisoned rats/mice dying in the walls, no poison to endanger my pets. No snap traps to possibly injure my pets.
That said, I'm thinking about getting a 4-post lift for my garage so I can keep the Vette high off the ground. I had a rodent eat wiring in two cars before. Each one cost about $750 to fix. It wouldn't take much wire being eaten to pay for the lift and I'd get to use the lift for working on the car.

Reason: to revise the original post, of course.
Yes unload 1/2 a can of Lysol disinfectant spray into the intake grill by the wipers on the drivers side with the fan on medium speed and windows open. You might want to get an air bubble for long term storage if you have rodents. You don't leave your work donuts laying around in your Corvette do you?

I'll second this solution. It worked very effectively with an Audi S4 that I had that seemed to be loved by every rodent within miles of my garage. I also used it quite effectively to ward off the little buggers from a standby generator that they liked to play house in.
Try finding one that you can stand the smell of. I would just make sure to place it onto the intake side of the filter so that it doesn't get sucked/blown into the duct-work.
Will Kill every single mouse within 100 yards of your house inside of
2 weeks.
Excellent, very clever contraption, will remember this should the need ever arise.
Thinking ordinary water might work as well as antifreeze, mouse drowns in either.
Mice are blind. Yeah I know the umpire joke. But when mice enter a building they run the walls first to get an idea of the layout. Then they will forage. You have to stop the issue before they climb into the car. Stopping them there is band aid. Use glue boards on the inside walls, and they do make big ones that will not a let a rat escape. And in my opinion your problem is solved. I have done this and that is my experience.

Dryer sheets seems to work or Irish spring bar soap, but I have seen them eat it . I Would not put poison in the car most rodent poison will attract them. Mothballs will leave a bad smell . I put dryer sheets in the exshust pipes when I put things in storage.
Never had mice in the Corvette, but have had problems with my classic Caddy. I now use peppermint oil and the rodents leave it alone. A friend tipped me about it and swore by it, so far it has worked for me. Rodent free for 3 years. Nice thing is when you open it back up you don't smell mothballs or any other garbage, it just smells like a candy cane!
Don't use the cheap stuff, get it from a pharmacy, about 20.00 or so for a small bottle.
