I only buy used so not even considering a C8 for at least 4 years to see how things shake out.

I've only had my "old" (used) C7 for 1 year so I don't need an upgrade. The lack of a manual is disappointing, but the performance & price sounds like a home run. Not thrilled with the styling, but the C7's rear end was ugly at first but now I realize it flows well with the rest of the car. This is a radical change for the model so too many questions right now.

Don't see how they could work a stick into the interior without major changes.

Me thinks folks better get used to the idea that a manual tranny 'vette is DOA as of the C8

Yeah, I wont be jumping on one. Not till they change that ugly interior and put some more thought into how they transitioned the body in the rear, looks odd at the angles I've seen. I like the front end that seats and the gear box but that's about it.

You folks wanting a manual may have to accept that it's not going to happen. I know it's tough but it's a reality.

Will consider a Z06 model in a few years. Had a C5 Z06, have a 09 Z06 and now a 19 Z06. Always like to wait out the first year or two of a model so the car can be refined with updates and any problems rectified. First hurdle was over come this morning when my wife asked me if I was going to be getting one. I accepted that as 'implied consent" and will keep that card in my back pocket. Although the C8 is a much different car I have to acknowledge that it shows a lot of thought and development. This was not a car they just threw together just to have a ME platform.

I like what I saw, and will wait for it to evolve a bit. I just got my Z06 vert M7, and the C8 doesn't check any of those boxes just yet. I will probably wait until Chevy is a few years into the C8 generation, where sales are starting to slow down, and the big forum dealers start discounting them, and then I might make the leap. It will partly depend on how well my C7 holds up, and how well GM & its Chevy service departments address the problems of the C8. I think getting quality service from a Chevy dealership on a mid-engine car is going to be a serious issue that GM has not addressed. We still hear the horror stories of Chevy dealers who can't do an oil change correctly in a FE dry sump system. Location of the engine in the C8 is going to make working on them difficult unless there is easy access from underneath when the car is up on a lift. Still, I think the biggest problem owners of the new C8's will face is the servicing network after the sale.

when I purchased my CPO 2018 2lt z51 2 months ago I was aware of the c8 - but every auto I purchased I have bought late in the model years and that has worked out for me. So, if live goes according to plan I will get a C8 sometime in 2024 or 2025.

It does seem like a great corvette but my C7 still looks good to my eyes as well.

agree 100%. That is why I’m not jumping into a c8 for a few years. This is the GM that made a mockery of itself with the famous A8 (I know fan boys, it’s only a handful of crazies that have problems in the vette world, and in the sixth gen Camaro world, and in the Yukon world, and in the GMC Denali truck world....) And I’m blindly going to be first to buy a DCT from these people? No thanks. I’ll wait for now. (Btw, before you attack me as a GM hater, consider my last 10 years of history of buy and lease loyalty: 2 CTSs, 3 Traverses, 2 5th gen Camaros, a Tahoe and a C7. I think I’ve done my part in supporting GM)

Anyway, as I said, I’ll never say never, but wait a while until the car is debugged.

I still love the C7 so I’m in no hurry to get a C8 even though the C8 will certainly outperform the C7. I absolutely love looking out over the long hood of the C7 and seeing those beautiful curves; the C8 does not have that and I would miss it. Also, I’m sure the body design of the C8 is meant for function and overall it looks good but I find it somewhat over styled. The side scoops look too large and the rear end is way too busy looking. I bought the C7 knowing the mid-engine C8 was soon coming because I wanted the last of the traditional front-engine Corvettes. I’ll keep my C7 for at least a couple more years.

I'm fine with picking up a C7 with a manual for less than $30k in a couple years.

Keeping my C7 stingray. What difference does .8 seconds 0-60 really make on the street?

If it looked better than the C7 I would have traded-in in a heart beat. It doesn't look better imo, especially the front view. As others have mentioned, it looks like they welded the front end of one car to the back end of another, it just doesn't seem to flow right.

Maybe it will grow on me and I'll change my mind in a few years, which is fine because I'd never buy a first model year of an all new car, especially from GM.

Yes, it is not coincidence that I have a '19 with an M7 optioned the way I like it. I got a decent price on my '19 and plan to keep her and enjoy.

2016 owner here. Absolutely keeping it as I love this car. Nothing in the C8 is jumping at me to change.
