55+ with an A6. Not that I'm tied to one particular type of transmission though - of the ten Corvettes I've owned, 60% have been automatics, 40% manuals.
Every "fun" car I've had has been a manual. Bought my C7 at age 38, of course M7. I used to wish my body would hold up well so I can always drive a manual fun car, but it's pretty apparent now that 15 years from now, we'll all be mandated to "drive" electric appliances that wont require any shifting.
I just got back from the coast yesterday and as always stop and go on the 101 for 5 miles !! I'm soon to be 69 and I am very glad I have an A8 ,just give it gas and push on the brake !!
Let's try to gather some accurate data on Corvette owners.
Be a lot better to confine to C7s. Not any MY Corvette.
Also, it'd be interesting to know how many automatic transmission C7 owners cannot drive a manual. However it might be too embarrassing for most to fess up. Numerous C7 owners have stated such to me when I ask them why they didn't buy a MT. They simply don't know how to drive a manual!
Drove a 3 peddle Hemi Challenger for 7 years... until I got stuck in 2hr traffic jam and never got out of 2nd gear. Sore leg for a couple of days.
Stay off I-35 construction zones. Use your Smartphone to identify back ups ahead on your route. My Smartphone Maps App has saved my *** all over Texas' Interstates where there's been a wreck or ungodly construction zones. Never, ever travel without viewing the route way ahead..

Are you talking about Waco? That was the most horrendous construction zone for freaking miles that I have ever been on, and that's saying something!
I made the mistake of going on 35 north of Waco 18 months ago when I drove to visit my daughter in Austin. I left a different route (up 79) to avoid that crap, and when I came out this May, I did 79 both ways to avoid that.
Way better drive on all counts. 75 (speed limit) on a two-lane, plenty of opportunities to pass folks who won't move into the shoulder (is that a Texas thing? I've never seen that elsewhere). Beautiful country.

I was less than 10 miles from home, late at night, on a Sunday and been on the road for 8 hours. Plus, my age (77) is helping.
This site is an enthusiast site so I would expect a higher number of manual transmissions. I am 63 and have an M7 Stringray. My transmission choice order was Manual/DCT/Auto but haven driven another brand of DCT would rank it the same as a manual if not a little more desirable.
Old enough I know that GM is going after a younger deomographic with the C8, but I think that will see limited success. Guys in their 30's and 40's won't be the predominate buyers of the C8. Many of those are still paying off student loans, starting to have or are raising young kids, wanting to buy a new or larger house, or are just plain not interested a C8 type car. A Corvette is not a family car. Its kind of like the motorcycle industry. Motorcycle sales are down overall, and Harley is struggling to attract younger buyers. There is a real, definite reason why the average age of the Corvette buyers/enthusiasts are in their 50's and 60's. The kids have grown and moved out and they can afford a vette.
