Nice idea, but 55 is young for a Corvette owner. I'm thinking the average for a manual owner is going to be under 60, and the average age for an auto owner will be well north of that.
I have 4 Cars - 3 of them Manual. 2 of those 3 are Corvette C6 Grand Sports, If this old fart of 72 yr old is going to replace one of the 3 -- it will be with another Manual.

Funny I don't FEEL old . . . Actually I put off getting my first Vette because I just did not like them that much until the C7 came out. So I had a few other sports cars first. The C7 pushed me over the edge. My first C7 was at 59 and my second was at 62. FYI, my transmission history was M5, M6, M6, DCT, A8, M7.
At 48 I got my first Corvette and it’s an M7. Had 3 Mustangs prior and they were all manuals. Tried a DCT M3 and it lasted a year. Just can’t do an auto in a sports car at this time. Maybe someday 😏
I am a manual man myself, but I think the DCT could be cool if it works really well. That being said I think the numbers are skewed by dealers ordering automatics. Not all Corvettes are ordered by customers, many are ordered by Sales Managers ordering what they think will sell and some folks will take an automatic just to have the car, even though they might have preferred the manual. I hypothesize that the true manual numbers would be much higher, as much as half the Corvettes sold if all who really desired a manual were able to get one. I am 65.
55+. Had an M6 C6, loved it, put 50,000 miles on it. Now have an A8 C7, and loving it. It’s good to have a choice, and I agree it’s a shame those days are coming to an end for new Vettes. But even with the C7 not everyone gets their choice. I’d love to have had the choice of a DCT in the C7.
