Ventilated seats tips
But yes OP, that is about the only way it could work better. but the air really just blows around you as you compress the holes in the seat with your body.. the "sucking" air away into the seat is the only way to effective have vented seats just not in this car.
hey Jack, hope that clears up why they seem to work and then fade out.
As a 1LT C7 owner none of this makes any difference to me, but it would be nice if the ventilation actually worked om 2LT.
I also agree they seem to work fine at first and then don't seem to be working after a while.
But, they're working just fine because I notice even though it doesn't feel like the seats are still cooling, I notice I'm not sweating in the seat.
Anytime you don't think they're working that great, shut them off and you'll soon see the difference
Have a good one,

).They work by evaporative means. Three basic considerations come into play with a forth.
1. Ambient cabin temp (especially floor).
2. Relative humidity.
3, Moisture on skin and clothing.
4. Thickness of clothing also makes a difference. Wear jeans and don't expect much. Wear leggings (and, yes, I know most of you don't have the luxury nor would you be caught dead in them anyway), but they work pretty damn well ( and are easy on the seats).
This is the number one reason why some folks notice an initial cooling effect, and awhile later, notice nothing,
Side note: rented a Mustang Convertible that had A/C seats a couple of weeks ago in NM, and they were not better than my '14 when I drove it out to NM. Surprised me; I thought the AC seats would freeze my behind off, but, nope, sadly. I don't know if they would perform better vs. ventilated seats in a higher humidity area, but in NM they didn't perform better than the ventilated seats of the C7.
