Just registered for the Level 1 three day school at Spring Mountain for 9/9 - 9/11 with an M7 Z. Any of u guys gonna be there? Any suggestions? Looks like an incredible experience.
No, didn't do the corvette owners school. This will be first trip there. Decided to do the level 1 with a M7 Z before they r gone forever.
Cool.. So far I have only taken the COS, and others can fill in for the Level 1, but suggest arriving the night before and get a SM condo or local hotel room. If you do that and like wine and good food, the local Symphony's Restaurant and attached winery are worth visiting the night you arrive,
Unsure how/when/where/if the Level 1 uses the PDR, but if they do I'd bring a 32GB Class 10 SD card to record EVERYTHING you do in the car.
A search of the forums for SM Level 1 may provide more info.
Enjoy!!
Buy this carbon fiber certificate frame at the Spring Mountain store. I have it hung up on the wall in my home office. Looks better in person. It's like $30 and well worth it.
Thanks Jimmbbo. Took ur advice and booked the night before at SM. The prices for the condos r very reasonable. They also recommended a 32gb class 10 SD for the PDR and said I could mount my gopro with a suction mount. I've had that thing mounted on the wing of a plane at 130 knots and its never budged! Really looking forward to it.
Thanks Joe. I'll definitely want one of those for my wall. Everything I've read/heard about SM is 5 star. My brother making the trip with me so it's gonna be an unforgettable experience. Counting the days

Looks much better with an 8x10 of your track hero photo in it
The first two days of Level 1 are the same as the COS except the classroom is more focused on driving techniques than talking about how to use the different functions of the car since a majority of the class most likely don’t own a C7 or even a Corvette. At least that was the case in my class. The third day is all track with some variations on the lead/follow format and the last couple of sessions being open track (no instructors).
I took the Owners class in July and it was awesome. They match you with the car you own so I had an M7 Stingray whereas others had GS's and Z06's. Hopefully I can make it back for the Level 1 class soon. You would have to check but I think the C7s will be available for a while. My recommendation is drive the car like you stole it when it's your turn. The only other thing is to bring any food, snacks or adult beverages with you otherwise it's a trek back into town and you do not want to drink and drive around there. Off track your cruise control is your best buddy. Have a ball!
I originally planned to do the COS school but decided to do the level 1 with the Z06 M7 after calling and wanting to do 3 days. I wasn't really sure which one so rolled the dice for level 1. I have wanted to go for years and finally have the opportunity. And also getting to go with my brother makes it even better. Thanks for all the advice and info from u guys. Can't wait!!!
For you guys that have gone did you take your wife and if so do they let the wives hangout and watch? My wife has a 2015 Z51 M7 we recently purchased and tried to talk her into paying the whole $2,500 but she does not want to do it. I need to get signed up here before the end of the year or early 2020. ;-)
