Had a small accident with my C7 which resulted in damage to the drivers side headlight. Auto body shop says it needs to be replaced because the fastening tabs are broken and the light will not stay in place.
Shop has been waiting two weeks for a replacement light and is telling me that Chevrolet has announced that there is NO INVENTORY available and as is unusual gives no other information as to why the lights are not available nor when they might become available..
I spoke with Chevrolet Customer Care and have been told, "No available inventory" and that there is no other data available indicating what the problem is or when light assemblies would be available..
Sounds like the service parts organization is in the middle of contracting for more spare parts. If they are near the end of the process or the contract has been awarded you may be able to get something soon. If they are just starting then it might take a while.
This car has been in production for 5 years how can they not have spare parts for it. What the heck is GM doing. You shouldnt have to go to junkyard for parts for your car

Or transmission fluid or fuel odors or skipping tires or faulty steering or..............Gm didn't just drop the ball on the C7, they slam dunked it into a trash can.

Epoxy the tabs back on or fabricate new tabs out of aluminum and secure.... you're back on the road.
This is what I would do if in same situation... I would probably go ahead and order a new headlight myself..
but this would keep me from waiting (months???) until a new one is available.
