I'm considering getting the Range to disable the 4 cylinder mode. I see Amazon has it for sale and it's cheaper then the one on the Range website. Any reason why I shouldn't get it from Amazon?

It's an old version they are selling which draws current when the vehicle is shut down and runs the battery down. Buy directly from Range as that have the updated version where they fixed this issue. Only Range sells the update version.
Just save yourself risk of issues down the road of not having the latest update. Purchase from Range and they stand behind 100% and offer 'free' updates as needed.

Very sound advice. The price difference is not so drastic as to not buy from Range.
