Heartbreak
Its not a big hit, but its there and to top it off I had just gotten XPEL applied.
So here I am, called USAA and they issued a check to a collision center that I know is very good.
So with your storehouse of wisdom, What are some questions I need to ask?
Will the paint color match completely?
Thanks in advance
Chief
Couldn’t resist but seriously. Your collision center will put her back like new. I would ask if they will bag [cover]the rest of the car to prevent other scratches, dings, etc.. whilevin their shop.. I wonder if the hotel had any video of the parking lot bandit..it would be nice if they caught them and then you could possibly get reimbursed for your deductible.

Some considerations.
would a run away shopping cart get to you because you are in a low spot in the parking lot shopping carts run down hill
can some one get to your front facia..( its low and not easily seen in a rearview mirror.
Can you park in a place that will protect at least one side.
Dont park next to a 2 door car
Consider what a gust of wind would do to your car's door when you open it or, someone's door next to you.
Dont make your car appear to be special. ( too many jealous people.)
Try to park next to a car that has as much to lose or more than your car. ( Nicer car )
If you park in the most convenient sport.. Some others might will rush to park next to you in the next most convenient spot, with no consideration for the car next to them because they are in a hurry.
I can usually park in a spot that I am comfortable with, but if I cant , I wont park.. No dings on any of my cars in well over 30 years.. Parking smart.
OH yes, there is a certain amount of luck involved here also.. but getting a good safe spot ( Not out in the boonies ) will increase your luck.
Just a few consideration before just choosing the next available spot.

What he said!
A few days later I saw his car and it looked as if a rake had been run down the driver's side..... as I said, "Your car."
Oh, and one other comment - No, Bob, you weren't a CPO - you were an E7 - a Chief Petty Officer would not park like that....
Apparently in your world you're the only one entitled to do that.
Not to mention he's parked properly in a single space. Unlike that smuck driving the Corvette.

Don't park like a d-bag.
