I replaced the runflats with non runflats and bought an inflater and bottle of green slime, just in case. Well, the case presented itself the other day and it was scary until I was sure the green slime was working as designed. Out in the middle of nowhere putting trust in a bottle of goop is very disconcerting. I was second guessing my decision to replace the runflats and it wasn't pretty.
Anyway, the slime did its job and now I'm off to the tire place for tire repair.

Good hearing slime worked, unfortunately it also left inside of tire a real mess covered in gunk.
Whoever has to remove/fix that tire probably won't be very happy.

Yes, I heard about the removing the slime and I heard it's a problem for the sensor.
Had the tire repaired. The inside of the tire was coated with the slime but they tech left the slime there. He removed the slime around the puncture to patch it. All is well; the tire even balanced perfectly.
I get very conservative here; if the part is not a distinct upgrade/performance need/desire I always go right
back to stock, including tires. I even kept using GY Runflats on my '12 GS......so when new tires (or other parts)
present themselves it will most likely be factory replacement....

Good to hear everything worked out alright, but how was the TPMS? was it covered in gunk and does it still function properly?
I almost went with non run flats last month but thinking about it I decided the $200 difference for the 4 tires was going to cost a whole lot more top get a roll back out in the country.... went with run flat All Season .... me happy camper! CJ

I just got my C7 so it'll be several years before I'll need to replace the tires. But on my C5, I wound up going with all season non-run flats...half the price of the run flats. I figured that I'm never more than an hour from the city, and worst case the motor league can tow me to get the tire repaired. Anyway never happened on the C5...so I plan to do the same when the time comes on the C7.

It comes down to a personal choice. I switched from runflats to non-runflats on my C5 and fortunately never had an incident where I regretted it. On the C7, I just switched from the OEM runflats to a set of Michelin A/S 3+ ZP tires. Just wanted to keep the security of the runflats and had heard a lot of good comments on the A/S tires.
