Default First time Corvette owner!

Hello! I recently traded up to a 2015 Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic C7 Z51 from a 2013 Blue Ray Metallic V6 Camaro. It's a 2LT, so I've got the PDR and HUD, which are great, but I was also able to work a new head unit into it so I can have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I got the Z51 because I want to do track days and autocross. There was only one autocross event left in the season, unfortunately, but I made it in the new (to me) Corvette!

I've already got a few mods in mind, too. I definitely want to trade out my chrome wheels for some black ones (chrome just isn't my style), but that has made me consider replacing the chrome hood and rear badges, too. I'd prefer to stay with OEM parts, but suggestions are welcome! I'm also considering wrapping the spoiler black, to match all the accents. I'm thinking that will be better than painting, just in case I want to take it back to DSOM. Any opinions?

Obligatory picture attached.

We have a lot of similarities. I traded in my 2013 M6 V6 camaro for my 2015 Z51 M7 1LT with PDR and MRC. Highly recommend all the things you mentioned. Mine has the black wheels, emblems, spoiler, mirrors and hood stinger. I say stay with OEM parts.

Good trade. I went from a '16 V6 Camaro to a C7 Grand Sport.

Replacing the chrone badges for carbon flash should be easy and relatively inexpensive. I'd also imagine you will be able to sell the chrome wheels with ease to fund the cost of some black wheels.

Enjoy.

I'd sell the chrome wheels to cover the cost of the black wheels, if they're worth more, but I'm not familiar with the normal going rate for either. Plus, then I'd be without wheels until I get the black ones! Haha! So, I'm leaning toward a trade, if I can find it.

Looking great! Did you paint or wrap the spoiler, hood, and mirrors?

Quite the (horsepower) jump from the V6 (300 hp?) to the Vette V8; I would have liked to have seen the smile on your face the first time you punched it.....enjoy

Great picture Happy to see colors other then white, black or grey. I went blue for my C7 but my previous car (Nissan 350Z) was orange, loved that color

Totally agree on getting rid of the chrome. I want to go with the all black accents myself including the Z06 grill to get rid of the chrome strip up front. And have considered blacking out the rear spoiler too, but think adding just the end wickers might be enough.

I didn’t think PDR was available until 2016. Was this an add on option at the time?

Looks great! I especially like those black wheels. Big improvement over the chrome, in my opinion. I was unsure about the black stinger stripe on orange, but it looks good. I might have to consider that, now, too.

Thanks! My girlfriend took the picture. She's into photography, and we just happened to find this great farm at sunset. The Z06 grill is really growing on me. Might have to get one of those, too.

PDR was first available in 2015. As far as I know, it's been standard on 2LTs since then. I was looking specifically for a 2015 or 2016+, because I wanted the PDR and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Android Auto/Apple CarPlay became standard in 2016, but you can upgrade to it with a new head unit (which is what I did).

Nice looking car and color, and a really good picture. Great light and tones. Looks like some of the farms I used to see in Lancaster County, PA. Enjoy your car.

Congrats! I like where you are going with the black spoiler, black wheels, and Z06 grille. Black badges and mirrors would be great too. Not that it doesn't look great already.
