Default C7 rear interior panel removal

I am attempting to remove the rear panel in my 2016 C7 corvette to replace the hatchback latch assembly. I found the following article from the forum that discusses the removal. However, to me, it's a bit unclear regarding some of the terminology. See the below link. Can anyone share where the D-Rings mention in this article can be found on the panel?

That said, if anyone has a video or better instruction on removing the panel (GM Part No.: 23233018 Panel Asm-Rear End Trim Finish *Black), please share.

The D-rings are likely the forward cargo tie downs just behind the seats which do need to be removed to remove the carpet and I didn't need to remove the side panels to remove the carpet or rear panel. If you can hold off till tomorrow evening I will make a video on getting that rear panel off if you don't have it off by then.

If you need to remove the interior rear quarter panels there is a D ring on each of those that needs to be removed. Be careful removing any of the panels that are just snapped into brackets on the body of the car. Some of the clips that fit into the bracket are very tight and they will break off the back side of the panel if you use too much force at the wrong angle.

Only need to remove the panel where the hatch latch is located which from what I see does not require removing the side panels. It appears to snap in, but want to be sure before I proceed. Thanks for the reply. us3rname is planning to do a video for me this weekend.

Figured it out. It's all snapped it pretty much. You have to unscrew the cargo net hucks 1st (seen in the second image). Once that occurs you can simply pull the panel off. Now I have to figure out how to remove the hatch assembly.

Glad you got it figured out how to remove the panels. Best of luck with the latch mechanism.

Thanks. Turned out that the wire connection was loose on the latch. All is good now!
