I have a 2019 Grand Sport that has had Xpel installed on all but the rear fascia. The guy that installed it did a great job. The product really works and provides great protection. I can drive the car without fear of rock chips in the paint. I will add this to any new car from now on. I am sold on it.
I have Expel and Laguna Blue with some orange peel on the rear quarter panels that have no Expel on them. The front snout and half way up the hood have Expel and not a hint of orange peel. If there is a product that is any more transparent and non yellow I have never seen it. You have to look closely and at the correct angle to see the line mid way up the hood where the Expel stops. If you didn't know it was there, you would never see it. Nice ten year warranty and scratches heal themselves in sunlight. I am sold.
I have nothing and drive my Corvette accordingly.Got maybe 3 tiny chips you have to search for.It is not a Museum piece. It has 23k miles.
Shines great with Bead Maker and no ceramic.Doppler radar driven,no tailgating,no hovering around trucks on the highway.
If driven in all climates and a ton of H-Way it would be a definite.
Been saying car care is SO much easier for years with the car being wrapped, and now companies are offering not only self healing, but self shining plastic all together, had my porsche and ZR1 done with it, makes car sare stupid easy
2019 Grand Sport. 7 months old now, 5.6k miles. Very happy with Expel installed day 1 from windshield A pillars forward. Also covered side skirts, lower door line down to and including rockers, headlamps and mirrors. 2 highway trips from DC to Florida. 1 of them on I-95 that had road surface scraped getting ready for re-surfacing so lots of debris being kicked up from other cars. I barely notice the difference in orange peel level between panels with Expel and non covered panels. Overall I would rate the paint quality (Shadow Gray) on my Corvette as excellent. There is an extremely faint and almost invisible line at lower end of doors where I had Expel installed, but even after I have carefully polished car twice with paint sealant the line can barely be detected.
I have PPF on my 2012 Acura RL with 156k miles also. It especially has saved my bumper and headlamps from road rash. The hood has several minor chips in the film, and there are 3 chips through the film and paint from severe rock hits (1 so hard it not only cut through film and paint, but also chipped the aluminum front fender leading edge). The film is not an armor plate, but if you do highway driving and keep your cars for many miles well worth it as it reduces road rash by probably 90%.
A friend purchased my 2006 Acura RL years back that I had PPF on. Last year with over 250k miles on it, he had the old film removed (was crazing). I was amazed at how well the film had preserved and protected the paint. Not perfect, but looked like car had 40k miles vs 250k miles and 12 years of use in metro DC.
