I have a 2015 Z-51 convertible with the in dash navigation. It was in need of updating for sure...as our area has grown rapidly and it hasn't been undated since new. I purchased the 2019 update from GM a few days ago...My question is simple...I have a friend with the same year of Vette with Navigation. Can he utilize the same update or will it only work once for just my car? Thanks in advance for you help....

Yep, when ordering the update it tells you it will only work with the VIN that is coded into the update. I updated mine and had to provide my VIN number.
V.2019 update is on sale right now for $99, not bad! I've updated my 2014 to V.2017 and most recently V.2019 and each update was noticeable, especially when I lived in a constantly growing area like DFW.

Looks like v2020 is only available for 2016 and newer.
Unfortunately.
We bought the 2020 update for our 2017 a couple of months ago for $99, and it still shows available today, though with possible delays due to high demand.
When I plugged in a 2014 Corvette, it showed only the 2019 update as available.
I wonder what the difference is?
I bought the V2019 some months ago when it was put on sale. Little did I know the V2020 was coming out soon after. If I knew that I wouldn’t have bought the V2019. That kind of pissed me off. So I complained to Here Technology the makers of the software and said they should offer free or heavily discounted the V2020 version to people who just bought the V2019.
Heard nothing. So wrote a little review of my experience on the BBB website.
Long story short, Here Tech. sent me the V2020 update for no charge! Ah, the power of the BBB!
I wonder if 2019 will be the last year for an update for the 14s and 15s. The 2016s have a different interface and CarPlay. Different type of data base or something?
I was about the pull the trigger on the 2019 for my 15. I'll wait a little. See if a 2020 comes out
I ordered the $99 2019 special only to find out they came out with the 2020 the next day.....I tried to call them with NO LUCK so I returned it and disputed the charge on my credit card....the ball is in their nav screen now.....
I just looked to see what updates were available for our previous 2009.
The answer is "None". It looks like if you have a C6, you can't get Nav updates of any kind from GM. So even though they made updates after 2009, if you didn't update back then, you can't update now.
With a C6, you might find a later used disc to insert in your car. Since the C7 updates are VIN-specific, someone who keeps the car a long time might want to stay updated while they can.
I'm hoping GM will step up with updates for the 2014-15 people, cutting them off now would be a low blow. Especially since replacing the Nav system isn't very practical, and they don't have carplay.
