Default Engine Mods for 13k most HP

thanks. hope I'm not a pita. Just a serious question. I know someone can help. I've been looking at the threads and learned a lot. Juiced motorsports looks good. Vengeance Racing and Lingenfelter seems overpriced. IDK

hey there not sure what your setup is or how long you have had the car but why not save up for a z06? With that 13 you are already a decent chunk of the way assuming a trade in on your current.

other thing to think about is if you are just adding a supercharger to a base model you aren’t going to get the full benefit of all the hp to the street bc you need to upgrade other components to handle the power.

at the end of the day if saying my car has xxx hp then you can certainly go the FI route, but if you are tracking or simply want a better driving experience then I’d say go a different direction...but I get it dude.

on a personal note I had a 2015 gt mustang with a bunch of upgrades netting me 500hp, wanted to get performance closer to a vette and looked into adding a roush sc or a whipple, both would have gotten over 750 hp. However, I test drove a car with a similar setup and literally couldn’t do anything with the extra power until 3rd bc the car couldn’t handle it.

I know there is a vast difference between a mustang and a corvette, but my point is simply adding a blower to an engine without a thoughtful build can lead to disappointment in the driving experience. If I were you I’d do a couple of bolt ons and save the cash for a slightly used z06 in a year or so...

however if you want the hp, look at the whipple scs they are pretty awesome...good luck

Whipple I will look into. Do I have to do anything else to protect the engine. This was a wrecked 2017 Vette I got for 36k . Nothing is wrong with it. Took it to a Chevy dealer and had a guy name Lee go over it. I mention his name because he live and breathes corvette. Anyway, see where I'm at. I freaking dealership looked over my ride. Got out of the motorcycling phase, too may close calks, I do see them Z06 dropping in prices LOL. but its too late. Like I said I bought a wrecked C7. Carfax shows it and wouldn't get jack squat on a trade in. Thanks so much for replying. First I heard of Whipple charger. Take Care my friend

thank you. will do. I knew I could do more research on here. just didn't know where. New owner and basically an idiot. I do know this I want to go faster. LOL

Your best bet is to contact various shops to see what you can get. I agree with the others though, I would just get a Z06.

It's nice to recommend moving to a Z06, but that's going to cost a helluva lot more than the $13K max stated by the OP. I've got a 2014, Z51, with mag ride and low miles (12K). I've looked into trading for a Z06. At a minimum we're talking $25K, and going for a really nice, low mileage version more like $30K and higher. I agree that it's the better way to go because the car can handle the power and you get some of that money back when you sell, but no way can the OP get anywhere near a decent Z06 for the base car plus $13K. They're going to need to double the amount they are putting into this venture.

Okay, Sooo, here's my background. Bought (outright not that it maters) a base stingray that had been wrecked but not a salvage. That darn thing wrapped it's arms around me when I took it for a test ride. So, I bought it. Then like every else I own now the fun really begins. Make it mine and be proud of it. Side story. Have a Harley Street Glide bought in 2013 and had over 30k in it. Took a soaking on it but now got 13k to spend without wife going through roof. Any suggestion. Juiced motorsport are the cheapest I've found but seem to be to cheap. thanks for reply

yep. been reading a lot and talking to Hutter Performance. Throwing around ideas . I see people throwing a supercharger and that's. So be it can the engine I have handle it. Read in a thread a guy had a trunnion ruin his engine?? Figured out was a trunnion was and now I want to upgrade the rocker arms. Hutter Performance started talkng about a LT$ fuel pump and injectors. IDK

Keep your C7 as it is and drop the $13k on a nice used crotch rocket.

For $13k you can get a good twin-turbo setup with a custom exhaust from front to rear. Roughly 650rwhp on about 7lbs boost. I've been looking at a Procharge D-1X which installed/tuned is roughly $8500. Again, 7lbs of boost to about 600rwhp. You can then do a really nice custom exhaust, Weld wheels and good drag radials.

I think you should head over to the C7 Forced Induction sub. They have a lot more information.

just out of curiosity how much did you spend on the vette what year and trim? Also how is it after the repair, can you tel?

very cool that you have some cash to play with on it, what’s your end goal? Hp? Tracking? More fun daily driver? I think based on what is most important to you, you have a few good options.

like I said personally I would save and invest in a z06 down the road but now knowing the wreck aspect it makes more sense. The only caution many will give you with adding a blower is just to make sure you do the right improvements to put the extra power down to the street.

but sounds like you have a fun build in front of you!!

Front right quarter was wrecked. No problems so far (fingers crossed) Points straight as an arrow going down the road. It's a 2017 base trim with 13k miles and paid 35k for it

How about adding the Edelbrock Supercharger kit? I think they are around $6 or 7K?

Is that in your opinion the best supercharger. I called a shop here locally and they will install a magnuson supercharger with headers for 11k. seems kinda expensive?
