Default Side mirror issues

I back my car under a lift. When I put the car in reverse the mirrors point down. I know that this is to help the driver see the parking lines better, but hinders me when I need to see what is behind me. Up till now I have just sat there for about a minute and wait for them to go back up. This is aggregating. Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Yes. In Settings you can turn that feature off.

^^^This. Also don’t know why you sit & wait. You CAN use the left/right adjustment button on driver door to point them exactly where you need them pointed when backing up. They will return to preset positions automatically when you next start the car 🚘.(If you set the drive/exit positions previously).👍

So I guess now I have to wait for one of the rare times the infotainment screen is working.

The procedure is detailed in the owner’s manual.

Infotainment failures are sort of rare. If the car is under the B2B 3/36K warranty you can have it fixed for free.

Yeah, it's a 2014. I have spoken with my local dealership and they said it would be out of pocket. It's on my to-do list to pull the screen out and fix the wires. Radio still works so it hasn't been an emergency issue.

Screen was working for a while tonight and I was able to find and turn off the mirrors before it went back out. Thank you for the help. From what I've researched the infotainment screen is a big problem for a lot of 14s.
