By way of background, motorcyclists often use products such as
Plexus Plexus
as a cleaner, polish, and protectant. It works well on plastics, especially windshields, and leaves a shiny layer of a protective coating making it easier to subsequently remove bugs, etc. It works very well.

But it is expensive. So years ago a number of motorcyclists convinced themselves Plexus and Pledge have similar ingredients (the debate/discussion continues to the present). As Pledge is a lot cheaper they continued to use it as they would Plexus.

I use Plexus on my transparent top. Works great! Cleans, shines and protects. Also good for the taillights and headlamps.

It is also excellent on aircraft windshields.

I've never used Pledge on any of my cars but in the late 70's when I bought my second boat (a Checkmate), the dealer suggested it for all the fiberglass surfaces. It worked very well and I discovered many fiberglass boat owners used it and still do.

I second the use of Meguiars UFF. Its so easy to use, spray on / wipe off - leaves a slick, shiny surface behind. I found a little goes a long way as it spreads quickly. Given all the high quality automotive products on the market these days I wouldn't use Pledge.

I think the real problem here is you are using it every day but still purchasing in a standard consumer quantity. So just switch to buying in bulk -
