My guess is the composite body combined with all the vehicles electronics / computers is the reason for this. A small voltage drop could cause any number of systems to misbehave. All unibody steel vehicles use common ground, so the entire chassis offers a very low resistance return current flow. Not so with the Corvette where you have multiple grounding points, many of which are shared by various cable runs, all chained together that have different resistance levels. I've learned this by having a fiberglass boat where most electrical problems are simple grounding issues. Boat will not start? Wiggle the ground wire. GPS / Fishfinder turns off randomly? Wiggle the ground wire. This why everyone here tells you to disconnect the negative battery cable when any of the car's electronics act funny... its the old fashion wiggle the wire fix

Just for peace of mind I usually swap my FOB batteries every 2 years even though they're not failing yet. Glad you had an easy fix!
