Installed a new Curb Alert 3 years ago....it has never really worked properly......off and on mostly off. It gives false readings when changing lanes..I called factory said to move sensor up more...did that, kind of eliminated lane to lane false alerts, but now won't remain calibrated and work properly when approaching normal parking lot curbs.
So...don't have any faith in it and am using the front camera when parking.
Wanted to know if other members have had similar issues and what do about it. Maybe I am doing something wrong but have the factory instructions in hand each time I try to calibrate it and it just does not remain calibrated after initial setting.
It's not you. Reading in here gives me the impression that the CA doesn't hold calibration very well. I had the choice of CA or install the camera, the camera won my decision.
I've had a CA on my 2014 for 4 years. The only issue I have had was when bumped it on a high spot pulling out of a parking lot and it moved. Re-calibrated it and everything was good again. I have never had an alert when changing lanes. I'm very happy with mine.
Installed mine about 3 months ago. It's hit and miss. I have noticed any bit of.dust on the sensor and it won't work. Half of the time I don't even hear the sound when the car starts. I have a 15, so I wish I had a camera instead of this CA. I'd say it works 50% of the time.
