Anyone have headers that can confirm if this is normal, I just put stainless works headers with ARP bolts in and tightened them down to the 17ft pounds the manufacturer recommended, however along each opening side by side if I put a flash light underneath I can see light come through, again its side by side and no light comes through where the gasses are dumped into the header themselves. I’m not sure if this is normal or if I should Tighten it a but more, I also did use a replacement OEM gasket for both headers and both have this light peering through, any advice or if someone could check if there headers do the same would he greatly appreciated. circled where the light pokes through in red
Not sure about the light in the area you are pointing out but it almost looks like the gasket may not be completely compressed around the port, hard to tell though. When I installed TSP headers cyl 7 had a leak and using a feeler gauge I could get up to .016 to pass in between head and flange. Eventually got it down to .006 but, it still leaked and ultimately had to get a replacement header. If its not too much trouble to remove the header you may want to take a straight edge to the flange and see if it has any deflection.

I'd be worried about the flange flexing as it heats and cools which could cause the bolts to loosen. I'm probably wrong but I think about things like that. Please keep us updated.
