I dought you would want to lub the latch in your pick, I am told that latch is designed to close the door without getting finger prints on outside of door if one is that particular so if that is the case you would get lub on your fingers so I wouldn't think it would need lubing. just my 2 cents
I would not apply anything to the part that you pictured, which is generally called a door latch striker/receiver. You’ll probably transfer the “lubricant” to your clothes and interior. Unless "permanently" sealed/lubed, if it moves, slides, turns, rotates, etc. against similar material it needs, or will need lubricant.
I can't decide whether to say I agree or disagree with that.
I lube all the moving stuff on our cars occasionally, and never have any problems with them.
I also have friends with 15 yrs/200k miles on car, who never lube anything. And never have any problems.
