Default C7 door hinge

Any specific lubricant needed for the door hinges on the C7?

That pic isn’t a hinge. I haven’t lubricated the hinges - or the latches - on my ‘14.

I dought you would want to lub the latch in your pick, I am told that latch is designed to close the door without getting finger prints on outside of door if one is that particular so if that is the case you would get lub on your fingers so I wouldn't think it would need lubing. just my 2 cents

I would not apply anything to the part that you pictured, which is generally called a door latch striker/receiver. You’ll probably transfer the “lubricant” to your clothes and interior. If your door hinges and/or latches are dry, then you could add a lithium type grease, or similar... https://www.familyhandyman.com/autom...s-and-latches/

In 116,945 miles, (yep, that's my new number, and someone needs to come up with a new/better one) I never needed to lubricate the hinges on the door.

And yes, the loop is the way to close the door w/o fingerprints.

The hinges do/will need lubrication at some point. The latch? Probably never.

Unless "permanently" sealed/lubed, if it moves, slides, turns, rotates, etc. against similar material it needs, or will need lubricant.

I can't decide whether to say I agree or disagree with that.
I lube all the moving stuff on our cars occasionally, and never have any problems with them.
I also have friends with 15 yrs/200k miles on car, who never lube anything. And never have any problems.

It is called a door striker. I would say lube the latching mechaniam, not the striker.
