2018 stingray non npp. My question is.... is there a setting in dic or radio that I can get a better exhaust sound?
No, only cars with NPP exhaust have valves that can be opened to increase sound. If you want a louder exhaust you can buy an x-pipe and/or an aftermarket performance exhaust system.
Or, just pleasantly listen to your tunes and watch the police take out after the other guys with the loud exhausts... has worked for me more than once!

Not true. Non-NPPs, have the sound level choices in Settings.
^^^
There is no way for a non NPP exhaust to get louder through electronics. There are no valves. I cant comment on the menu because ive never driven a non NPP.

.
Yes, the settings are there. However, changing the setting does nothing with a standard non NPP exhaust. With no valves to open/close, changing the setting can't change the sound.

That doesn't make sense to have the 3 different selections in Settings then. Of course non-NPP, has; "no valves."

Uh, yes there is.
You're controverting yourself. Just because a NON-NPP Stingray doesn't have valves, doesn't mean it cannot have electronics that change the exhaust sound electronically.

You are wrong. I have a non NPP. Those settings do not change anything In a non NPP car. No sound change.

Re-read my post. I never said they did. I said the electronics could be associated with sound change. Whether the settings change the sound or not isn't at issue.

For better sound your best bet is to get a good aftermarket cat back system and swap out the stock exhaust. There are a number of good choices available.

That post makes no sense as the last sentence contradicts the prior sentence.

I have a non NPP, and there is no way to change anything about the sound. Wish I did have it, but I didn’t order the car. Buying an aftermarket system is really the way to go and what I want to do, but there are a lot of choices and things to consider. First of all there are the AFM valves on most of these cars that have to be retained, and exhaust systems like Corsa do not provide for them.( I think Borla does) They want you to cut your present AFM valves out and reuse them, which I refuse to do. That messes up your stock system. Then you have the possible issue (for me anyway) of being too loud all the time depending which system you get. I had a Mild to Wild on my former Z06 and I hated it open on the highway with the drone issue, and half the time it was just too loud even around town when open. That made me keep it closed most of the time and then it was too damn quiet! So the NPP, while being nice to be able to change settings, is still either too quiet or too loud imo. I would really like a system halfway between the two that has no drone. Just a little beefier than stock, but not boy racer obnoxious. That is what I’m looking for now to solve this issue of the too quiet non NPP issue. I guess the other downside to it all is the expense of these systems which can quickly get up there.
I had the same problem with my non NPP. I could not continue with the Cadillac sound on a Vette. After much research I chose the AWE afm valve back system. Corsa does make a similar system at a higher price. Yes it is quite loud and obnoxious. However, it has the 180 degree drone elimination and does work. The tire noise is louder. I found that using manual to hold a higher gear with lower revs keeps the sound down when needed. Actually it is like driving a new car, hearing the shifts, using manual deceleration to produce burbles - lots of fun! Also will not void warranty or cause emission test failure. look up CSP for system, prompt shipping no charge. Costs me $330 for install at the best Corvette shop in area.
