Default Ptm

New to the Z06 and I was going to try Perf Trac 1 - Wet active handling on.
The manual says to just turn the mode selector for different selections. All I get is the usual weather, eco, tour, sport and track. No options PTM. I don't understand it. Or is that all there is to it? I have spent the last hour going through the whole manual. I must have missed a page that explains this correctly. Thanks.
Never mind I think I found it!

This vid show you how to do it. It's pretty straightforward once you know.

Not sure what mode you're trying to get to, since there is no "Perf Trac 1" Assuming you are in Track mode, the sub-modes are...
- Wet
- Dry
- Sport 1
- Sport 2
- Race

Put PTM in Track Mode, press the button twice, a window will pop up on the IP display, twist the **** to get to the desired sub-mode. After 10 seconds the window will close on its own. If you push the button again, it defaults back to "Dry" and closes the window.

Mode Description is here ====> https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rack-mode.html

Put it into track and double click the button. There is an art to how fast you double click (about a half second)

PS - PTM Wet is awesome. Ive used it at autocross and it works really well.

Thanks. That is what I have heard. I copied this statement from a previous thread a while back.If you want a loud exhaust, fast shifts and a comfortable ride, try this:
"Go into PTM mode and then just leave it in the default Wet mode. Suspension defaults to Tour, the exhaust defaults to Track, and shift speed is faster than in Tour mode. For around town driving and city freeway driving I have not felt any performance degradation, even under moderate to semi-aggressive throttle."

Yep the timing is critical - double click too slow or too fast and the menu doesn't come up. Clearly GM wants to be really sure that you actually want PTM on. Also you do nothing to confirm the selection, just twist and then leave it alone, the selection disappears so you have to trust that its "on". I keep expecting a "Are you sure?" message to appear

Below is what each setting does in the background...

What I found odd is despite being in Track to start the process the MRC and Steering will go back into Tour or Sport for the Wet and Dry settings.

I use Sport 1 on the track and feels perfect to me. The car will slide enough to corner well but does so in a progressive way that is easy to control.

^^^
JM - thats a good observation. The one thing i dont like about PTM Wet is the steering goes to Tour and it cant be over-riden. I dont understand the logic.
