Sounds like a loose piece of inner wheel well trim or brake duct catching the edge of the tire and snapping back into place. That's my guess.
Once up in the air I bet it will be obvious. Most likely a loose screw.
So I finally got the car up and the left wheel off and it seems like Dennis hit the nail on the head. It looks like one of the screws on the plastic trim piece connected to the control arm came off or was pulled off causing it to catch on the wheel and slap back causing the noise (I hope so anyway). I couldnt find any spare screws or plastic trim tabs lying around to fit the small hole so I guess Ill see if the dealership has any available. Now Im just hoping that it came off over time and wasnt pulled off somehow. Also, on an unrelated note, the car has about 30k miles on it. Does the wear on the CCB rotor look excessive? Does that need to be changed out?
