Anyone here replaced the rear brake light on their car. Mine got broken and the dealer wants $756 to replace it.
Since you have to remove the rear fascia I was wondering how much of a hassle this is.
Thanks in advance.
A reputable body shop should be able to replace the light in 1.5 hours easily.
Quite possible, but that is not how it works. Mechanic looks up billable labor hours in the book. If the book says 5 hours (for example only), you get charged 5 hours. If it takes the mechanic 2 hours, so be it. That means the mechanic has 3 extra hours to go work on another vehicle and make more money. When I wrenched on cars, I commonly was paid way over 40 hours on my paycheck, even though I actually only worked 40 hours (paycheck reflected total billable hours charged that week, not actual labor hours at the shop). Slow weeks would result in less than 40 hours on the paycheck, even though I was at the shop a full 40 hours.

If you're handy with tools you can DIY. The bumper cap is not that difficult. I added a Z51 spoiler to a friend's car. Took a little over an hour with one extra person helping out.

I agree (not too bad). Get someone to help. When you pop it off it's much easier to have a person on each side (as well as putting it back).
I've done them myself but I am far more confident than skilled.
