i just purchased a 2016 ZF1 2lt A8 stingray and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I had it shipped from corvette world in Houston to upstate NY and I’m itching to drive it lol but weather here is of course terrible. That being said. I went through the car with a fine tooth Combe again and noticed some small panel flushness concerns. They look very minuscule and prolly is bc I just bought it and I’m nit picking everything lol but maybe this is just how GM assembled it? I know I’ve read that on here. This May just be nit picking but idk if it’s suppose to be flush Small paint chip on this so I’m assuming this (out of all pics) may actually be off set Doesn’t feel too uneven based off the look but I’m still concerned only bc I bough it last week Same as the first Same as second and third
But I’m just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this? It would be a big help for a new corvette owner 😊
Okay so I am a new owner with a 2016 C7 that I bought 6 days ago. I also have been over my car with a fine tooth comb.
do see the issues in the photos and I do not have those issues on my car. Did you get some sort of car fax report on the car ?

the carfax was clean no accidents or damage and nothing from the dealer. These pictures (with the acceptance of one) are very close up to the car so it may just be the lighting and angles ? no I’m kinda worried 😥😥

i viewed the carfax and no reports of damage nor anything from the dealer. I checked the screws and bolts and didn’t see any threading or stripping that indicated it was replaced
Did you get an actual VIN report from the dealership you bought the car from to see if there was any warranty work done on the car?
If not, I would get another dealer to run a VIN check to see if any warranty work was done to the car. If there was any work done on the car, it may have been related to taking off the front bumper for whatever reason.
In your fourth picture, it looks as if the hood is not aligned properly as the gap is large between the bumper and hood.
Oh please dont get worried... It probably just needs some adjustment if you really find it displeasing. Since you just got the car I would drive it around and enjoy it. Then if you feel it necessary have the adjustments done you can do it at a later time. I bought mine last Sunday and since it was used I came to the forum with lots of questions and got lots of help. This place is your friend with a ton of experienced Vette owners that are willing to help. So far I went through a tank of gas and going to drive it lots more as I live in Florida.

i noticed that too and I didn’t have the dealer run a VIN warranty check on it is that something I could do ? That being said how would I go about re-aligning these panels. Is it this something I should be concerned about ?

your absolutely right and it’s 4 years old so I don’t expect it to be immaculate by any means I’m just worried that There’s underlying issues I wasn’t told about i bought it from corvette world in Houston so I’d assume with that name they’d be pretty reputable
Any GM dealer should be able to provide a VIN check for free. Just call them first or go to the dealership for a printout.
The bumper would have to be completely removed and put back on properly and have the hood checked for alignment as well.
Any body shop should be able to re-align the bumper and hood....just call around first to find out who works on Corvettes.
It's a common problem with these cars your not the only one. It's a luck of the draw. Some cars are perfect others not so much. The paint at the panel gaps is another known problem. I'm very OCD about my car and I truly understand being a new car to you how this can bum you out. Don't let it get you down and enjoy the car it really is a awesome machine. Remember you can always get it dialed in, it can be fixed it just sucks that you have to deal with it. Enjoy, and try not to let it ruin the experience Good Luck
You won't be bemoaning doing so to a "perfect" car and having to hold your breath for the first screw-up. If it were new it might well be different. DRIVEON and you'll not be able to see panel fit.
And don’t be shocked if some of the panels migrate a bit over time. Last summer I found that a fender on my ‘05 was impinging on the front of the passenger door when I opened it. Hadn’t happened before that time. Quick adjustment by the shop and fixed!
The paint chipping between the front and rear bumper cover and fenders is a common problem with these .
Caused by the gap being too tight .
My 15 was fine but my 17 had the issue . My dealer fixed it under warranty.
