Android Auto - Pandora disappeared
Took my '19 Stingray out today and when I connected my phone and opened Android Auto, the Pandora app icon was missing. It now has the
"Google Play Music" icon and other apps I have no use for (like the NY Times). How can I get Pandora back into AA?

Pandora is on my phone and works fine or through the car if I run it from the phone, but is it not listed on Android Auto as an app option when I tried the method above. ??
At this point, I would contact the makers of Pandora and ask them what's going on. That and browse the Android Auto Forum (https://support.google.com/androidau...2Fandroid-auto). Getting help for a software problem in a car forum is not the best way to go. I saw some references to Pandora "taking over" AA meaning it insists on being the main audio app. When BeyondPod (my podcast player of choice) did that Google made it so that BeyondPod would no longer be supported. Maybe that happened here?

I lucked out and fixed it. In Android Auto under settings I opened the AA compatible apps menu. Pandora was listed and gave me two choices, "Uninstall" or "Update". As I have it installed on my phone, I hit "Update" and it downloaded changes that were introduced in Feb. 2020 to make it compatible with Alexa and other Google stuff. As soon as the update download was finished I went back to the AA main screen and there it was!

Isn't that what I asked you to do and you said it was not listed there? Hmmm.... Maybe AA updated in the meantime and then Pandora showed up?
What is this "AA compatible apps menu" in AA settings that you speak of? There is no such thing in my AA. Maybe you meant Customize Launcher?
So you're saying, instead of a list of apps in the Customize Launcher screen with toggles for whether AA should show or hide the app in AA, you saw a listing for Pandora and it had an Uninstall or Update instead of a simple toggle?
Not trying to razz you, just trying to understand so I can explain it better to others in the future.

It is what RonC7 pointed out: Tap 3 bars at the top. Select "Apps for Android Auto", (not in Settings). Look for Pandora to see if it is still installed on the phone. Make sure it has the latest update. Not in Settings, "Customize Launcher Screen" other than it will show there if it is installed with the latest version.
Looks like I missed that in Ron's post. Apologies to Ron for that. He was right and I was wrong.
Meantime, this Apps for Android selection seems to be just a small subset from the Playstore. IOW, you probably had an update for Pandora sitting in the Playstore about to be applied when you experienced your problem. Going to AA -> Apps for Android Auto just highlighted that the update was available.
I have a Note 9 currently and have the same wireless android auto issue in all both my cars, it'll connect wired and then reconnect if I disconnect but won't connect wirelessly initially. Hoping when I upgrade my phone it works better. Definitely seems like that tech is a work in progress industry wide.
