Back ordered? So this means none are available in the world? Had no idea Targa Tops were so expensive, and difficult to purchase. Hell, the Carbon Fiber Top is priced over $4,000.00. Crazy money for such a small accessory.
I don't know for sure, but I think the shortage of new C7 transparent tops must be due to the Covid-19 situation. All GM suppliers are presently shut down so there are none left in the supply pipe line. I bought a new one from Gene Culley at Cultrag Performance (a forum vendor and GM parts dealer) in late February for $1789.00 which included shipping from Pennsylvania to Missouri. At the time he indicated that I got the last one he had in stock. Reported that he had sold 182 transparent tops for C7s. Mine arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition.
I'm guessing that unless you are prepared for a very long wait, your best bet would be to find one from an owner that has one for sale.
Mr. Livingston I have one in storage and I’m going to sell. It came off from my C7 Zo6 with 4200 miles. I traded the car in at Reeves for 911 turbo s.
i lived just north of you Land O Lakes.

I have both tops and like the openness of the transparent. I leave it on on year round but it does allow interior temps to spike in the sun (think the "bluehouse" effect )... For a shade, I tried the suction cup version but since it's basically a stiff plank I found it a PITA to maneuver about and store in the car. Additionally the suction cups stuck to the roof like a horny octopus (the size and number of cups was clearly overkill).
When the weather turns warm (100+ in the summer) I install a clinging vinyl dot matrix shade... Effectively cuts the heat and still provides some openness.. The silver coating seems to reflect some sunlight and keeps the interior lighter. When not in use I roll it on a cardboard tube which makes it easy to handle and store.
Searching evilBay recently yielded only a black version, but with a couple of yards of dot matrix vinyl a home made version would be easy (and likely cheaper) to make in whatever color vinyl is available.
If you get the transparent top, search CF for its care and feeding... it is reported to tend to craze with ammonia based cleaners and there are a number of suggestions around that.
Cheers!
I have the same vinyl shade and it works very well. I have never removed it.
Have had clear top Corvettes over a number of years. The first was my 86 followed by my 97. Then two models of fixed roof solid top cars until I was able to get a two top C7. The only issue I found with clear tops is with sun coming down behind my sun glasses unless I wore a hat. There are also some weird reflection issues when driving in town at night under the street lights.
I bought just the frame and "glass" top from performance corvettes, but it appears that they're out of stock now, too. I think since GM discontinued, there just aren't any available. There's a guy trying to sell them on eBay for $10,000 and I asked him if it was a misprint, and he said he's buying them all up to sell because there aren't anymore.
Can you explain what the driveway material has to do with it???

Even if your not too ME its worth to have it. Especially, since most are autos(mines not) and a little auto start on the hot days should cut down the initial heat shock. Hell, I use that on my 2015 ford focus.
Ecklers sell them. I believe it's called a Targa Top Shade. It sticks on the underside by way of some self adhesive natural chemical. Had one on my C5. About $100 if I remember but a big pain in the butt cutting and sizing but worked well reducing heat while still maintaining an open feeling.
cant you just cut 90% of the suction cups off so you dont have to fight it to take it off? the 4 corners and top and bottom mids look like it should be enough.

That might solve half the problem, but those cups just love them some acrylic... If it had five smaller cups (one each corner, one in the center) it might be easier to remove.
Since it's a stiff shade I found it a PITA to manipulate and store in the confines of the C7...
One result of a brief online search for vinyl window cling sun screen material turned up this website
With more searching there are likely more vendors, and a local source might be a local RV accessory shop..
Wally World may have clinging vinyl sunscreens in various sizes that could be trimmed down, or made into two halves...
Buying a couple of yards of vinyl shade material, you can roll your own shade. Cut out a paper pattern and transfer it to the vinyl... Easy peasy.
Im in norCal so its just starting to get warm. Yesterday was a little heated but nothing to worry about yet. I dont have an auto to start her up and cool it down. I think someone said all can have the window's go down with the remote though. Ill have to look into it.

I thought they made a 2-piece version of that shade. But I just did a search and don't see any. Maybe I'm thinking of the C6.
