That whole center console section is essentially one piece. The blue part, in stock form, seems to be an aluminum piece that's glued directly to the larger piece. It doesn't look like it can be removed without damaging the aluminum, it's too soft and thin. As for what you show in the picture, it might not be the same.
My body shop just masked off the larger piece when painting the aluminum.
Do not try to remove that piece. It is glued on and is very thin aluminum,it will bend. We can paint just that piece for you or supply a custom painted piece that goes over it with double sided tape.
Getting the gear shift out on an automatic is a PITA. Not an easy fix IMO.
Comes out easy call me and I will walk you through it.
1. pry up the black trim plate at the bottom of the boot.
2. unplug the shift indicator light harness and raise the boot up
3. place the car in neutral
4. grab the **** with both hands a give it a yank upwards, it will pop off with the boot.

Thanks for the response!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup.. seen the instructions online.. Step #4 did not work for me. Pulled, yanked, begged and the **** would not come off for me. Searching on the forum, I'm not the only one that had this issue. So your results of getting the **** off may vary......
