Default Borla Bummer

Been waiting for my S-Type NPP /w Black intercooled tips from Borla for about 1.5 months due to Corona mess. Got them to the muffler shop and unfortunately those amazing tips were damaged in shipping. Josh with Meraki Autowerks is all over the solution which are apparently in stock. The tips are welded tom the mufflers so not as easy as just replacing. Will update when all is done .

Too bad about that. I did not realize the black tips were painted, or at least it looks like paint the way they scratched. I always thought it was some sort of plating process. I would almost wonder about getting a chunk of money back if they would and repaint them myself in the sarin black

You could always find a local place that does ceramic coating (cerakote) and have them coated. That's what I will be doing to my tips because I ordered black tips and was sent the polished stainless. To much trouble to send back to the manufacturer so I am getting a local powder coating shop to re-coat. I was quoted $80 or $90. dollars.

Good that the vendor is quick to help you out. Hope it all gets resolved and you get to enjoy the new sound from your car.

Knew I had that option and had this been a Corsa system the tips would have been separate.....not even getting into the fact that I paid over 2k for this !!
FYI while the tips-were wrapped in ”bubble wrap” the way they package these systems for shipping is to put the parts in and shot liquid foam insulation in that hardens, there is no compartments involved ...just an orgy of parts. This process is an accident waiting to happen, obviously.
Meh .....is what it is ...

My BB system is the same. All welded together. I only found out that the tips were polished instead of the black I ordered AFTER I unpacked everything. Trying to re-pack to ship back would have been like trying to put toothpaste back into the tube. To much trouble.

Powder Coat as someone mentioned and ask for a $300 refund which pays for $100 Powder Coat and put $200 back in your wallet for the inconvenience.

Wow!...that is all I have to offer...ups and fex ex suck...some of the manufactures and distributors make more profit from insurance claims than the original product making (they sell twice as much, as half of what is delivered is damaged)....after it all rolls into a consistent claim and insurance coverage thing...horrible and been down that road man times like most of us have...makes me wonder if there were a better process, what our parts would really cost ( less)...Respectfully, Ed

disappointing your tips didn't arrive as expected unfortunately, shipping is usually handled by the lowest level employee thus resulting in issues.

I have wondered how does one keep the black tips clean with out scratching the crap out of them? I've always had to use some type of abrasive cleaner and follow up with a polish on the stainless steel tips.

Agree. Totally worth the wait. Easy as pie to clean. Just wipe off with 303 Speed Detailer and you are done.

I literally just wipe them down bud. Since they are the same color as the soot, they are VERY easy to keep clean looking!

I haven't used the Mother's power ball since!

I've no idea how your exhaust was packaged, but one might think the only parts of the system that shows would have been done better than yours seems to have been. That is unless your box(es) were destroyed in transit... just saying.

Thanks ... so I have thought about this. “IF” I was to have kept the box and not dropped it off directly to the shop after picking it up from the UPS Depot ( It was ordered almost 2 months ago and shipped to my work, which is closed) I would have pulled it all out to check. The box is about 60 LBS and about the size of a box a bike would com in. If they packed it flat so the larger part was avail lay the parts side by side ...then shot foam.. it might make more sense. However it wants to be opened up on the “Ends”, the way the box is designed. Regardless just wrapping the tips in bubble wrap and not isolating them with cardboard would seem to allow for much more protection. But I am sure they know what’s best ...right ?
Totally pumped to get this on .....those shots of the *** end with blacked out tips ....Noice ....
Insert tips here ........
